FLAWS AND BLUNDERS (2) - 2008
When normally picture perfect stars step out looking anything but the world can breathe a sigh of relief that they are after all only human. From cellulite to sweaty armpits these normally groomed stars have all been caught looking far from their usual polished selves.
Amy Winehouse goes Back to Black - scabs that is, as her skin pays the price for her addictions.
Looking far from plastic fantastic: stubble, surgery scars and acne all make Michael Jackson's skin a real thriller.
We can understand that Goldie Hawn doesn't want to go Overboard on the makeup but she sure pays the price for it.
She may now be more of a lady of leisure than a Working Girl, but Melanie Griffith proves that time is still of the essence when it comes to a little retail therapy.
Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was pinning her hopes on looking elegantly put together but a skirt malfunction rather bursts her fashion bubble.
Looking rather more fatty betty than sweaty betty, Vanessa Williams proves that armpit malfunctions come in all shapes and sizes.
Not even Mariah Carey's divalicious demands can keep her artfully placed sweater in place - for that she has to rely on sticky tape.
After seeing this picture we bet Teri wishes she had Hatcher(ed) a cunning plan to hide those tan lines.
Never one to display model perfect behaviour, Naomi Campbell gets into a huff (and a puff) again.
Forget having 27 Dresses, Katherine Heigl would swop them all just to get her hands on a tooth pick.
Kirsten Dunst's recent romantic heartbreak has left her as ragged as her nails.
We wonder if Madonna realised tha...

John Kokeok skinning seals after a hunt. Most villagers in Shishmaref still live of the land, fishing, picking berries, and hunting caribou and seals. The lack of ice makes hunting much more expensive. They have to travel further and use boats which use a lot more fuel. The village of Shishmaref, along with hundreds of other Alaskan Native villages, is suffering from the serious consequences of climate change. Rising temperatures have resulted in a reduction in sea ice. The permafrost that the village is built on has also begun to melt, making the shore vulnerable to erosion

The 'Beckhams In The Big Apple' circus rolled on today, but for a change it was the children who were stealing the attention. While Brooklyn played the mature role, holding on to mum Victoria's hand and keeping his head down, Cruz and Romeo were determined to make the front pages. Romeo posed for the waiting paparazzi, cheekily pulling a face and sticking his tongue out as the cameras flashed, while Cruz seemed more intent on the contents of his nose as the family left New York's Plaza Hotel.

David Beckham, England and LA Galaxy Football Player, David Beckham, in Auckland for a soccer match, seen working out on a treadmill at a gym near his hotel, looking a little tired and weary after his flight from Los Angeles and unaware of the photograher as he picks his nose..
Becks Nose Best About Getting Picked For England
BECKS NOSE BEST ABOUT GETTING PICKED FOR ENGLAND
England football star David Beckham was spotted in a gym near his hotel giving his body, especially his nose, a good workout.
Becks is currently on a trip to New Zealand to take part in exhibition matches with his football team, LA Galaxy and, judging by his tired and weary demeanour, the inter-continental flights he must regularly take are not getting any easier.
Upon arrival he was given a traditional Maori nose-rubbing welcome from a welcoming committee, but the greeting obviously left him with a bit of an itch that he couldn't help but scratch later on while working out on the gym's treadmill.
And it would appear that the nasal fixation is hereditary: Becks was seen leaving the Plaza Hotel in New York on November 30 with Cruz and Romeo (*823034n). While the latter played up for the cameras, holding poses and pulling faces, Cruz was happy to take a back seat, blissfully ignorant of the flashing cameras and instead concentrating on the finger he had wedged halfway up his nose.

(081217) -- GAZA, Dec. 17, 2008 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian farmer harvests strawberries at a field in northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya, Dec. 17, 2008. The town was famous for its strawberry which used to be exported to Europe, but due to the closure of Gaza Strip crossings and the Israeli banning on any kind of export from the Hamas-controlled Strip, farmers there have suffered great loss with their income sharply reduced. Gorilla decides baby son's name by choosing from five fruit piles, Toronto Zoo, Canada - 18 Nov 2009
GORILLA'S SNACK CHOOSES SON'S NAME
A silverback gorilla has unwittingly chosen his son's name after being presented with five different fruit piles.
Each of the five piles bore a possible name for Charles the Gorilla's two-and-a-half-year-old son.
The idea was whatever pile Charles chose from first would be the youngster's name.
Keepers at Toronto Zoo cooked up the idea after deciding they wanted to give the proud papa a hand in naming his son.
The five shortlisted names were chosen from over 5,000 suggestions submitted by members of the public.
The only stipulation was that the name had to start with the letter N, in honour of the baby's mother Ngozi.
After being whittled down by online voters the five most popular - Nassir, Neo, Nico, Nigel and Nsambu - were displayed above the enticing fruit piles in the gorilla enclosure.
When Charles was let loose he carefully circled the perimeter before settling down to dine from one of the piles.
And the winning name? Nassir, which means 'safe' or 'to protect' in Arabic.
After Charles made his pick zoo staff let the others gorillas, including Ngozi and the newly christened Nassir, back into the enclosure to finish off the rest of the fruit.
