Some of those who participated in that attempt were killed while fighting government troops in Bab al-Aziziyah where Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi's headquarters are. Government reports admitted that there were a fight between the NFSL fighters and government troops but suggested that the fight happened outside Qadhafi's residence.
