Survivor trying to escape from a zombie in a car park
2.8 Hours Later Zombie Game, London, Britain - 28 Oct 2011
An interactive game with a difference has given Londoners the opportuinty to test if they could survive a zombie apocalypse. Those taking part were all handed a map and told the location of a 'survivor'. They then had to make their way through the streets of London to the given location - avoiding a host of ravenous zombies in their path. Those who successfully reached the first survivor without being eaten were then given the location of another and so on until they finally reached Resistance HQ. Here they were scanned for infection and, if cleared, were allowed in. However, anyone showing signs of being infected was instead thrown out to join the zombie horde on the streets. Taking inspiration from zombie films '28 Days Later' and '28 Weeks Later', the chase game is called 2.8 Hours Later' and has been devised by Bristol-based game creators SlingShot.

August 10, 2010, Kiev, Ukraine: The Chernobyl disaster is considered as the worst nuclear accident in the history. The disaster occurred on 26 April 1986, 01:23, at reactor number four at the Chernobyl power plant, near the town of Prypiat, during an unauthorized systems test. the resulting fire sent a plume of radioactive fallout into the atmosphere and over an extensive area, including Pripyat. The plume drifted over large parts of the western Soviet Union, and also much of Europe. 25 years after the disaster, people are still living and dying into the contaminated areas. /// Vala, a Prypiat refugee with the picture of her dead husband who worked at the built of the new sarcophagus.. The shunned survivors of the Hiroshima atomic bomb, Japan - 03 Aug 2010
With no family and very few friends Suzuko Numata lives a lonely and isolated life. The 86-year-old lives in a care home in Hiroshima - waking up every day with a very painful reminder of the past. For Suzuko was 23 and just 1.3km from the epicentre when the bomb fell, suffering injuries that later required the amputation of one of her legs. Like other Hiroshima survivors, following the bomb Suzuko found herself living an isolated life - shunned and sidelined from mainstream society. Such discrimination and shame meant that tens of thousands of Hiroshima survivors never got married, never had children and, in effect, never truly lived. When Sukuko did receive a marriage proposal, ten years after Hiroshima, her fiancé's parents forced him to break it off when they learnt about her past.
