Appetitlich: Pizzabäcker Domenico Crolla portraitiert Catherine Herzogin von Cambridge auf einer Pizza / 180113 ***
[Pizza face Kate Middleton. 18 Jan 2013. The first official portrait of Kate Middleton may have had mixed reviews but here's one tasteful portrait guaranteed to go down a treat -- the Duchess of Cambridge in a PIZZA. Using melted cheese and a scalpel, Glasgow restaurateur Domenico Crolla, 46, took two hours to painstakingly create the edible artwork. And he said he can't wait to complete a portrait of her husband Wills and then top off his Royal series with a family picture of the couple with their new arrival in July. Father-of-two Dom, who owns award winning Bella Napoli in Shawlands, Glasgow, said: "I wasn't a fan of the official portrait of Kate, I thought it was awful. "I saw the picture and thought I could do a bit better in a pizza. I think mine's a little more flattering, and at least you can eat it afterwards."] (FOTO: DUKAS/ACTIONPRESS)

This item is among hundreds of rare and historic Royal items due to be sold by Colchester auctioneers Reeman Dansie in their sale of Royal memorabilia next Tuesday.

A COLLECTION of rare colour photographs of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor relaxing at their French country home are due to go under the hammer next week. The intimate photographs of Edward and Wallis Simpson entertaining their society guests at Le Moulin de la Tuilerie in 1960 were taken by one of the Duchess's closest friends, the Princesse Ghislaine de Polignac. They show the Duke of Windsor relaxing with a cigar in one of his familiar kilts and chequered socks at the 18th century mill house where they entertained guests including Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Dietrich, Maria Callas and Cecil Beaton in the Sixties. And Wallis Simpson and a friend are pictured enjoying the sun in their swimsuits in the pool at the idyllic country house at Gif-sur-Yvette, near Versailles.
