The Ghillie Suit, camouflage suit used in the investigation of insurance fraud - Nov 2008
POSITION VACANT: INSURANCE INVESTIGATOR WITH LOVE OF CAMOUFLAGE NEEDED
If you've ever believed that insurance was dull then prepare to think again.
CIA Excel, a security and surveillance company which operates in Northern Ireland and Scotland, is currently advertising for new undercover, insurance fraud operatives.
Successful applicants will have the chance to don the kind of gear more usually associated with special forces in order to investigate their 'targets'.
For the first time, CIA Excel is advertising publicly for two new recruits and is holding a series of boot camp events to select the final candidates.
More than 100 people have already applied for the two posts and during the rigorous selection process they will have a chance to don the "Ghillie Suit" - a foliage camouflage outfit that allows the wearer to completely blend into the background in a rural setting.
If successfully employed by the company the candidate will be one of those called in by insurance companies to gather evidence against suspect claimants, such as those who say they are incapacitated by injury.
A current member of the company's covert surveillance team comments: ''Those who are interested in these positions must be in no doubt that they are embarking on a job which is about as far from the ordinary, mundane nine to five office job as you can get.
"People might think that insurance fraud investigation is a dull, desk bound job for pen pushers but what we do could not be further from the truth".

Orbit the Orphaned Baby Owl, Narberth, Wales, Britain - 25 Feb 2009
'Orbit' the 5 week-old baby Barn Owl who has been hand reared by Lynsey Wood at Folly Farm near Narberth in West Wales. The chick was orphaned at one day old and in an effort to make Orbit feel more at home, Head Keeper Lynsey bought a toy owl for the Barn Owl to cuddle up to.
Lynsey added: "It's the first Owl chick which i've hand reared, it's been an amazing experience to see it grow so quickly. A friend suggested that I find something like a toy Owl to stop Orbit feeling lonely, so I bought one from a local shop and it's made the world of difference. I thought that he might try and eat it, but he just cuddles up to it and goes to sleep".

Baby Harvest Mice are released back into the wild, Somerset, Britain - Sep 2009
A BERRY MICE LIFE
The future is looking berry nice for these tiny harvest mice.
The cute critters got their first taste of freedom, not to mention a juicy meal, after being released into the wild.
In total, five mice were all released into the countryside around Somerset following a successful breeding programme.
And after tasting the blackberries the youngsters all scampered off into the undergrowth and their new lives, which will hopefully include producing lots of offspring.
Harvest mice are the smallest and rarest mice in all of Europe.
Staff at the Secret World Centre have been playing their part to help secure the future of the miniature mice species by running a back to the wild breeding scheme in order to boost their numbers.
And after a baby boom earlier in the year, the adult rodents are ready to venture into the great outdoors.
In recent years life has been tough for the harvest mouse, due to modern farming techniques and loss of habitat.
It doesn't help that the mini mice grow to just 2in long and weigh less than a 10p piece.
However, according to Georgette Shearer of the British Mammal Society, the late harvest in some parts of the country has proven to be a real boon for the mice.
She comments: "They can have three litters a year and use cereal crops for nesting. You can imagine what happens to the last litter when the harvester arrives.
"Any delay in the harvest can be a good thing for them."

A rare white tiger bursts out of the water at Singapore Zoo, Singapore - 28 Sep 2009
AMAZING PICTURES CATCH TIGER'S TEATIME
A rare white tiger lunges into water at feeding time to fight for food.
Female photographer Birte Person captured the astonishing shots of the white Bengal Tiger as it ate with five others.
White tigers are almost extinct and most of those that survive are in captivity. In the past century only 12 have been seen in the wild.
The white tiger is neither an albino nor a separate subspecies. They are born to a Bengal Tiger, or Panthera tigris, that has the recessive gene needed for white colouring.
This happens naturally once in every 10,000 births and results in a tiger with white fur, black stripes, blue eyes and a pink nose.
Birte, 62, from New South Wales, Australia, took the incredible pictures while on a visit to Singapore Zoo.
She said: "Singapore has one of the largest collections of white tigers in the world and runs a very efficient breeding and conservation program.
"When these photos were taken I was on my way to another conservation shoot in Asia but decided I had to stop and look at these magnificent creatures.
"They sit in anticipation on the rocks waiting for the first morsel to be thrown, then it is a huge lunge into the water by all of them.
"It carries on at a frantic pace until they all get some food.
"Because it happens so quickly it is very difficult to get photos like this - I'm very pleased with them."
Bengal Tigers are fully grown at two to three years of age and live for up to 15 years in the wild. Males weigh 200-230 kilograms and are up to three metres in length.
The females are 130-70 kilograms and up to 2.5 meters long.

PARALYSED DOG WALKS AGAIN AFTER PIONEERING TREATMENT
A dog who was paralysed has taken his first steps after pioneering treatment by scientists at Cambridge University.
Experts hope the procedure could eventually be used to help humans with severe spinal injuries after its success in getting pet pooch Henry back on his feet.
Henry, a smooth-haired Miniature Dachsund, was unable to walk after discs ruptured in his spine last November.
Now the six-year-old dog is walking and wagging his tail after scientists at Cambridge Veterinary School took cells from his nose and injected them back into his spine.
"It's incredible, I didn't think Henry would ever be able to walk again, but over the last few months he has been wagging his tail and taking small steps," said owner Sarah Beech, 34, from Birmingham.
"The vet told me to put him to sleep because he wouldn't have a very good quality of life and he was very depressed.
"But this treatment has really helped."
Henry had always enjoyed going for walks but suddenly lost the use of his legs about a year ago.
"One day he yelped when I picked him up and two days later he couldn't walk," she added.
"The discs in his back were pushing into his spinal cord and eventually he lost the use of his back legs and continence.
"I think he may have fallen down the stairs at some point before I bought him as his spine was quite badly damaged."
Henry was given an operation to ease the pressure on his spine, but it didn't work.
Then Sarah heard about the new treatment for severe spinal cord injuries and decided to enlist him in the trial.
Cells were harvested from his nose in March and...
