October 20, 2025, Stockholm, Sweden: Carlsberg has created the world's smallest beer, an alcohol-free symbol of moderation. The company is taking a new and unique step with the help of the research institute RISE, the company Glaskomponent and a miniature artist by presenting a very small innovation: The world's smallest beer. The beer's moderate size and alcohol-free content are intended to encourage moderate consumption, and in parallel, students are now challenged to create an even smaller beer bottle. Meet Roxie the chacma baboon who like nothing better than having her own pet rock! The young wild animal can be spotted carrying a rock with her wherever she goes at her home in Zimbabwe, South Africa. Her behaviour has been viewed with amusement by Karen Paolillo who runs the Turgwe Hippo Trust in the area where Roxie and her family live. And it would appear that Roxie's fascination with rocks has started to rub off on the other baboons in her troupe, with her brother and the youngest member of the family also following her lead. Karen comments: "What fascinates us is that Roxie started this carrying of rocks and walking with them as kind of foot rests and now she has her sister, brother and little Tiny doing it. Plus she often puts say 7 rocks all in an exact line and that just is unbelievable but she does it over and over. I think we have budding geologists and mathematicians!"

The DrinkMate gives you a measure of your sobriety just by blowing into a device plugged into your mobile phone.
Measuring 1.8" long and 0.62" in diameter, the portable gadget weighs a keychain-friendly 0.2 oz.
The device is the braindchild of Washington D.C.-based Edge Tech Labs who have already smashed their Kickstarter campaign target of $40,000, with $81,379 raised with a week to go (ends 24 Sep).

The DrinkMate gives you a measure of your sobriety just by blowing into a device plugged into your mobile phone.
Measuring 1.8" long and 0.62" in diameter, the portable gadget weighs a keychain-friendly 0.2 oz.
