SOLDIERS DRAFTED INTO LONDON GAS WORKS TO SOLVE GAS SUPPLY PROBLEM

Following a conference at the Ministry of Fuel between the Ministry and officials of the gas companies, the War office undertook to begin at once a comb out of army units for skilled and heavy labour to help solve the gas supply problem all over the country, for the rest of the winter. More troops are being drafted into gas works imediately to help restore supplies, following a further reduction in pressure in many areas, which in some parts of London resulted in a complete failure of supply.
