Christmas has come early for the Tigers at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park in Devon ...Christmas present parcels with lumps of meat inside were soon snaffled up by Fabia the large male tiger leaving none for the female Shakira and just the boxes to play with for this years cub Lucu. All kids play with the empty boxes at Christmas and Sumatran Tiger cub Lucu was no different.
Lucu was one of three cubs born at the zoo this year but sadly one died shortly after birth and the other died when his mother accidently smothered him whilst sleeping, so being an only cub Lucu plays and amuses himself with Christmas parcels. Contact: PO. Phil Knowling 07967 930362

"Say...PEANUT BUTTER!"
American photographer Greg Murray captured the amusing series "For the love of Peanut Butter" to celebrate pooches and the amusing expressions they pull whilst eating.
Ohio-based Greg, 34, has taken nearly 100 photos of dogs to date for the series. As a rescue animal advocate, Greg has tried to photograph as many rescues as possible.
Greg said: "The original idea for the series came about around 2 years ago. My fiancé Kristen and I had a rescue Mastiff named Bailey. I loved getting pictures of Bailey with her tongue out and her typical drool. I found the best way to do that was to give her a little bit of peanut butter.
"She unfortunately passed a few months after that photo was taken. The book will be dedicate to her. She touched many people through the photos I took of her. Although we only had her for just over a year, she meant the world to us."

Gandalf is a cat like no other: he loves to travel the world and has been to two countries and nine US states so far.
Gandalf, or 'Ganddy' is a two-year-old Siberian cat, living in California with his humans.
Gandalf's owners said: "We were inspired by Gandalf's curiosity and bravery! He is ambitious, a go getter, and loves non-stop adventure.
"Everything he sees or smells is exciting to him and that really changed how we look at the world. We were so jaded before Gandalf came into our lives!"

Pic shows: Dylann Roof, 21, who murdered nine people at the Emanuel African American church in South Carolina on Wednesday night in a race-hate crime, seen here in pictures he posted of himself on an online blog entitled: " The Last Rhodesian," which he appears to have registered online on February 9. The webpage also contains a race hate manifesto of more than 2,000 words which gives an insight into the motive for the shootings. He states: " I chose Charleston because it is most historic city in my state, and at one time had the highest ratio of blacks to Whites in the country. The event that truly awakened me was the Trayvon Martin case. It was obvious that Zimmerman was the the right. But more importantly this prompted me to type in the words 'black on White crime' into Google, and I have never been the same since that day." He posted a large number of photos on the site, including this one, which, according to the metadata embedded within them, were created from August 2014 up until the day of the shooting, June 17 2015. A number of pictures see him posing with a handgun and the Confederate flag, burning an American flag and visiting sites steeped in racial history. His manifesto calls for a new civil war in America. Dylann Roof entered the Emanuel AME church at 110 Calhoun Street where he shot church members at a weekly bible study group. A five-year-old girl survived by playing dead and the killer let one woman escape to tell the world what happened. Eight of the victims died at the scene and one died later in hospital.

Red squirrel finds a hazelnut hidden in a mini Christmas Tree
Squirrel helps himself to nut present on mini Christmas Tree at the Escot Estate, Ottery St Mary, Devon, Britain - 10 Dec 2014
This cheeky little squirrel is just nuts about Christmas - after finding a tasty present under his tree. The red squirrel got into the festive spirit when staff at The Escot Estate in East Devon played a little bit of hide-and-seek with a hazelnut and a miniature Xmas tree. And it certainly didn't take this hungry critter - who must have thought that all his Christmases had come at once - long to sniff out the treat. Run by animal lover John-Michael Kennaway, the 1,200-acre estate is something of a safe haven for the threatened red squirrel species. According to experts, if efforts aren't carried out to halt the dramatic decline in numbers then red squirrels could become extinct within ten years.
