SCHICKSALE - Ein Frühgeborenes überlebt, nachdem es mit Eingeweiden ausserhalb des Bauches geboren wurde
Holly Striloff / CATERS NEWS (PICTURED L-R Kohen with baby sister Autumn Warner) A premature baby has defied the odds after being born with her intestines outside of her stomach. Autumn Warner, who is now four-months-old, was born six weeks early on July 5 by emergency c-section to medical lab assistant, Holly Striloff, 33, and her partner Travis Warner, 32, in Kamloops, Canada. The condition, gastroschisis, is a birth defect that causes a baby's intestines to form on the outside of the body and effects on average one out of 2500 babies born in a year. But thankfully doctors were able to save Autumn's life after feeding her intestines back into her body in an intense procedure. SEE CATERS COPY (FOTO: DUKAS/CATERSNEWS)

MERCURY PRESS. Pictured: Newborn Francesca Bradley-Curran..A 'miracle' girl born 24 weeks premature with feet the size of a penny has defied doctors who said she'd never walk or talk as she looks forward to her fifth birthday.  Francesca Bradley-Curran, now four, was born 48 hours after the abortion limit, where doctors would have legally deemed her not 'viable' to save due to the low survival rates for babies born in that window.  Weighing just 1lb 6oz, doctors warned her mum, Victoria Bradley, 41, and dad Paul Curran, age, that even if she did survive she would never walk or talk properly. SEE MERCURY COPY (FOTO: DUKAS/CATERSNEWS)

SCHICKSALE - Mutter bringt trotz lebensgefährlichen Infektionen Baby zur Welt
PIC BY MERCURY PRESS (PICTURED Melissa and Theodore in hospital) A selfless mum who put her life on the line to save her unborn baby - who doctors believed had a zero per cent chance of survival - are hailed miracles as they both survive. When 29-year-old Melissa Shirley's waters broke at 24 weeks pregnant, while in hospital suffering from multiple infections and sepsis in mid-April, doctors were determined to save her life. Medics tried to transfer the mum-of-five from Port Talbot, Wales, to the nearest hospital with an ICU, but lacking a neonatal unit - leaving baby Theodore to die. But Melissa was determined to give her new-born the best chance no matter what the cost to her own health and demanded to be taken to the further away University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, which has a ward for seriously ill babies.
