Tiny plastic chips are washed after being separated and cut up then bagged for resale in the industrial section of Dharavi, Mumbai, India
    Mumbai, India - Apr 2009
Dharavi is routinely called "the largest slum in Asia," a dubious attribution sometimes conflated into "the largest slum in the world." This is not true. Mexico City's Neza-Chalco-Itza barrio has four times as many people. In Asia, Karachi's Orangi Township has surpassed Dharavi. Even in Mumbai, where about half of the city's swelling 12 million population lives in what is euphemistically referred to as "informal" housing, other slum pockets rival Dharavi in size and squalor.
Yet Dharavi remains unique among slums. A neighborhood smack in the heart of Mumbai, it retains the emotional and historical pull of a subcontinental Harlem"a square-mile (three square kilometers) center of all things, geographically, psychologically, spiritually.

Terrorist Attacks in Mumbai, India - Nov 2008
The world has been rocked by the November 26 terrorist attacks in India's financial capital, Mumbai. The terror began when terrorists landed in the city in secret by speedboat. Once in the city the men, armed with AK-47s and grenades, targeted eight locations. Witnesses to the carnage said the gunmen seemed to be hunting for British and US nationals. According to state officials almost 200 people were killed in the assaults and up to 327 other people have also been reported wounded. Days after the incident hundreds of peolpe were also still being held hostage in a luxury hotel and at a Jewish centre until the gunmen were killed by commandos. According to officials most of the militants have links to Pakistani militant group Lashkar-i-taib.

The Harp Gun Developed By Dr Gerald Bull Was The Basis For The Iraqi 'supergun' Parts Of Which Were Manufactured In Britain And Smuggled Into Iraq. Twenty Years Ago Dr Gerald Bull's Harp Weapon Had A 172ft 16-inch Barrel Longer Than The Teesport Find But Less Than Half The Bore. The Mammoth Steel Gun Barrel Has Astonished The World's Artillery Experts Who Belive It Would Kill More Iraqi Loaders Than Any Enemy. To Fire It Would Require 200 People And A Space As Large As Wembley Stadium. And With An Hour Needed To Reload--enough Time For Anyone To Locate And Destroy It--it Must Be At Most A One Or Two-shot Weapon. But Using Conventional Explosives It Could Target Israel Or Iran--and With A Rocket-assisted Device It Could Reach Large Areas Of Europe The Soviet Union And North Africa.
