A photographer has captured a series of stunning images of Hawaii.

The series includes pictures of the Milky Way, meteors, tropical waterfalls and striking coastlines.

Photographer Ulderico Granger, 19, grew up in Hawaii, and couldn't help but develop a fascination with nature.

Ulderico said: "I suppose I take photos to capture moments of purity and for me, those occur in nature. I am on a journey to find the genuine. I see photography as a tool through which we can preserve the beauty of life."

The bottlenose dolphin flips and eats the salmon while a seagull observes
Bottlenose dolphins hunting salmon in the Moray Firth, Scotland - 25 May 2015
Wildlife photographer Daniel Trim captured these amazing images of bottlenose dolphins hunting salmon in the Moray Firth recently.

They show the dolphins effectively flipping the salmon into their mouths. In one shot, a seemingly jealous seagull hovers above and observes the feeding scene.

Daniel says: "It was a joy to watch. In my pictures you can really make out the salmon the dolphin is eating!"

Bottlenose dolphins are present in the area throughout the year, but the chances of seeing them increase when their food supply increases: the peak times being when salmon are returning towards the two main rivers (the Ness and Beauly) which feed into the Moray Firth. The salmon come in with the strong tidal current.

A stunning new book depicts the amazing spectacle of dolphins in Scotland.

'On a Rising Tide' showcases the incredible photography of Charlie Phillips, who documents the antics of dolphins in the Moray Firth for Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC).

Many of his pictures show the acrobatic antics of six individuals in particular: the stars of WDC's adopt a dolphin scheme which helps protect dolphins in Scotland from oil and gas activity and industrial development.

Over the years Charlie has taken hundreds of thousands of pictures of them and these images play a crucial part in monitoring the condition of this population and adding to our understanding of their lives and behaviour.

"I hope the book will provide encouragement to come and see for themselves to those able to make the journey and an 'armchair travellers' guide for those who can't."

'On a Rising Tide' is released 29 October 2015.

The humble Swiss Army Knife has become trendy.

To celebrate maker Victorinox's 130th birthday this year designers at British start-up Saktory have put their heads together and decided it was time the practical and functional tool received a crafty make over.

The iconic pocket knives - known for their multiple pull-out tools, such as a corkscrew and tweezers - are known for their distinctive red handles.

But now Saktory say they have worked with Victorinox UK to "take things to a whole new dimension making the product trendy, exciting and very personal".

Saktory say: "The Swiss Army Knife is our art canvas. We love the Victorinox range, and have worked hard with designers from across the globe to carefully produce designs which resonate with Victorinox fans from all walks of life giving them that wow feeling."

Priced between GBP 34.99 and GBP 74.99, the partnership hope the eye-catching penknifes will make handy stock-fillers.

Haunting Image Gets Photography Contest Seal Of Approval
A photographer's haunting shot of a seal floating amongst a kelp forest has been selected as the winning image in a global competition.

Named best overall phot, the shot was taken by American Kyle McBurnie and shows the harbor seal peering through a kelp forest near San Diego in America.

Meanwhle, a British photographer's stunning shot of a spiky lionfish swimming after a shoal of fish was also one of the winning photographs from the University of Miami's annual Underwater Photography contest.

From small shrimps to huge hammerheads, the competition held by the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science attracted more than 700 entries from across the world.

The remarkable pictures reveal a hidden world of colourful creatures of all shapes and sizes living deep beneath our oceans.

"I took the photo when I was diving on a big wreck of a Second World War ship in the Red Sea in Egypt," said Alex, who has been taking underwater pictures for five years.

"I was about 20 metres down under the sea and took lots of shots but this was the one that came out the best.

"I love taking underwater pictures as it is very peaceful and you have access to a hidden world which only a small minority of people gets to see."

A panel of experts judged the photos, which came from 23 countries and awards were given in three categories, macro, fish or marine animal portrait and wide angle.

A pretty pink anemone shrimp snapped by American Beth Watson grabbed first place in the macro section.

Other winning pictures include an emperor shrimp photograp...

'Free Willy' Trainer To Release Captive Dolphins
Following a dramatic rescue and nearly two years of rehabilitation these bottleneck dolphins have been declared ready for release.

Tom and Misha were rescued by international wildlife charity, Born Free after spending six years in a small, filthy pool in Hisaronu, Turkey.

Marine mammal expert, Jeff Foster and his team have spent 20 months of painstaking rehabilitation to increase the dolphin's levels of fitness and revert them back to a diet of live fish.

The dolphins are now fit and healthy and hunting their own food.

Jeff said: "You can sense that Tom and Misha are ready to go. Our work in preparing them for the chance of life back in the ocean has reached its conclusion.

"When the dolphin's sea pen is finally unzipped they'll be free to leave. I hope they will swim off and don't look back."

Having worked with marine mammals for over four decades, including the rehabilitation of Keiko, the orca star of the film 'Free Willy', Jeff believes that Tom and Misha's journey to freedom could provide a replicable pathway for more dolphins in the future.

In Turkey to help with final preparations for the release, Programme Director for the Born Free Foundation said: "This has been a long journey for all involved. Waving Tom and Misha off will be a high point in my 20 years working for animals."

When asked for the official date of the dolphins release Born Free's spokesperson, Kate Chapman said: "I'm afraid we don't have a definitive date for the release of the dolphins as the project is top secret, but it is imminent."

Tom and Misha will have satellite tags fitted at the time of their release and their progress will be tracked by the Rehabilitation team.
