January 7, 2026, Munshiganj, Dhaka, Bangladesh: Beekeepers harvesting honey from a hive in the middle of a mustard field in Munshiganj. The pair lacking in full protective gear had their hands exposed to the bee stings. The collection of honey by bees from mustard flowers increases the yield of mustard through pollination by up to 20%. Each box contains a queen bee that breeds while other bees collect honey from mustard flowers. The beekeepers then collect honey from the boxes once a week. Red Fabrics Drying in Bangladesh
January 5, 2026, Narsingdi, Dhaka, Bangladesh: Hundreds of meters of bright red fabrics are laid out in neat rows across a field in Narsingdi, Bangladesh, during winter. Known as ''Lal Shalu'' to the locals, the long red cloths are set out to dry under the hot sun, having been dyed with bright red color. The use of sunlight to dry out the fabrics reduces production costs as it is cheaper and more sustainable. The eco-friendly drying method spans an area equal to 5 football fields and takes up to 6 hours to complete after being placed by workers at sunrise.
