NEWS - London: Tramunfall in Croyden fordert Todesopfer
Several people died and dozens were injured after a tram derailed and overturned in Croydon. Five people were left trapped inside the vehicle after it came off the tracks in a tunnel near Sandlilands tram station at around 6am. Three of those trapped have been removed from the tram, which is on its side, but two still remain inside as of 11.30am. The London Fire Brigade, which has 70 officers in attendance, said at least 40 people were injured after the tram overturned on a sharp bend. Emergency services were called at 6.10am as torrential rain continued to batter London. Over 50 people were taken to hospital.
