ARP AMBULANCE GIRLS CAN DO THEIR JOB BLINDFOLDED.
Girl ARP ambulance attendants at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, can do their job with their eyes shut.
When they had completed their normal first aid course, they pondered on how they would get on if they had to treat air raid casualties in the blackout. From that time they began practising blindfolded. Now the girls claim to have develped a sixth sense, and they are as quick and efficient in total darkness as in daylight.
The Great Yarmouth ARP aouthorities are considering passing on the idea to national headquareters for nationwide adoption.

PEN MILLIONAIRE ON FIRST LAP OF ROUND -THE-WORLD RECORD -SEEKING FLIGHT
Despite bad weather, Milton Reynolds, the American Fountain pen millionaire, may yet break the record of six days three hours and fifty minutes of a round-the-world flight on regular commercial services.
He landed at London airport today aboard the Pan-American Clipper originally scheduled to fly non-stop from London to New York: but fog at London airport caused aircraft to land at Shannon, Ireland, earlier today.
Without sleep since he left Los Angeles, California, on Monday, Mr. Reynolds said of his delay today: ' I'm disappointed as already I was twenty-five minutes ahead of schedule on the Atlantic crossings ... I can still do it if I make my connection in Hong Kong.' The record was set last December by Col. Eddie Egan of the New York State boxing control.
