GAZA : Gaza war first anniversary
Palestinian Behan Suheer Derabi, 17, shows the severe burns on his chest and hands, nearly one year after he was injured by a missile fired by an Israeli drone on Jabalya, Gaza. His brother Bilal, 19, and two cousins was amongst the 10 that were killed in the attack on the street outside their uncle's home. Behan was evacuated to Egypt for treatment at the time he was injured but despite the four months of treatment his burns have disfigured his face and deformed his hands. His legs and feet are also burned. Medical sources in Gaza claim that it is impossible to carry out the needed reconstruction surgery in Gaza that the boy needs and other treatments such as using silicon sheets for use in prevention and reduction of raised and discolored scars is too costly in Gaza. His parents say that they would even bring him to Israel for treatment if it was offered. Gaza, GAZA STRIP - 27/12/2009
