FEATURE - Hunde retten die Umwelt in Australia
July 23, 2011 - Macquarie Island, Australia: Hunter Gary Bowcock and hunting dogs Tama and Joker (Springer Spaniel) World Heritage site, the sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island, 1500 kilometres south of Tasmania, has been declared pest free after being scoured by a team of 12 hunting dogs. Rabbits had overrun the island, peaking at an estimated population of 150,000 after being introduced as a food source in 1879 by sealers to the pristine site and along with rats and mice came to threaten much of its flora and fauna. The spaniels and labradors were specifically trained for their eradication mission and were taught to leave the indigenous wildlife unmolested. Complete environmental rehabilitation of the island will take several decades yet, but already plant and animal life is showing signs of recovery. Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall walking her dog, Sandringham, Norfolk, Britain - 05 Dec 2008
An ever practical Duchess of Cornwall wrapped up warm today to brave the cold and windy conditions while walking her dog. In wellington boots, gloves and a heavy waterproof jacket, which she wore with the hood pulled up, Camilla didn't seemed phased by the weather. She kept a smile on her face as she and her sister and other friends strolled around Sandringham. Not even being photographed in such a windswept and less than glamorous state seemed to bother the royal who, clutching a walking stick, looked ready for a long hike.

Ilorin Emirate Durbar 2025
A local hunter poses with his gun during the Ilorin Emirate Durbar 2025 in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, on June 8, 2025. The festival is a colorful celebration of culture, tradition, and unity in Ilorin, similar to other northern emirates such as Kano, Zazzau, Katsina, and Sokoto, to showcase martial skills, royal grandeur, and community cohesion. It is celebrated during the Muslim festivals of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. The Ilorin Durbar uniquely reflects the city's rich cultural tapestry, blending Fulani, Yoruba, Kanuri, Gobir, and Nupe influences. (Photo by Adekunle Ajayi) -
