To Be A Matador
The young bullfighter practices manipulating his cloak, a difficult art but an important one, because the fame of a matador depends on his showmanship. He has to be able to presnet the bull with a good target, in the right placem then to whip it away and avoid the charging animal by an inch or two. Flourishes are called "Flureos".

The kill: this is the "Moment of Truth" of which the bullfighters speak, the moment when the courage of the posturing torero is tested. He must strike with his sword in two distinct movements through the animal's back; for a moment he seems to hold the bull on his sword point. Antonio Chenel shows how he hopes to be doing it in a few years time.

S-S-H- GIRL AT WORK
Possessor of what looks like Britain's ' cushiest ' job, though it is one which required a great deal of practice, is Rita McHugh, nineteen-year-old model of Salford Lancashire.
Retailers work is to recline on a mattress a as seen in this picture.
Manufacturers of the mattress wanted to stage a ' Sleeping Beauty ' tableau in a Manchester store .
To make the display possible, Don Ray, a Salford sculptor, had to search for a suitable model who could feign sleep for two hours at a time without yawning without actually falling asleep - if she went to sleep the model might lose the pose, perhaps spoil the effect by snoring, eventually, he selected Rita.
After her sleeping beauty act in Manchester this week, Rita will tour Britain and (in February) go to America with the display.

several models believed to be the sole representatives of their kind in existence, were among the unusually large entry of 130 cars.
The veterans got away to an early start, but organisers of the run-probably with due respect for age-warned that entrants could not be expected to pass checking point earlier than scheduled times.
