The targets are made of waterproof canvas and there can be as many as three different target locations. The pilots must choose one of them to toss their bean bags at.

Claire flies as often as she can, with the best time for ballooning being from Easter until September. Higher air temperatures in summer means you need to burn a lot more gas to take off and stay airborne, making it too expensive for the self-funded enthusiasts to launch.

The major event sponsor is Kavanagh Balloons, the only company that manufactures balloons in Australia. They had a special balloon flying in Mildura, Tweetie, which turned 30 years old during the bash. It was the first balloon Sean Kavanagh Ð a designer and production manager at Kavanagh Balloons Ð made himself and it took him 4 months to sew (on his own) before and after work.
