Flights of Fancy: Paul Goldstein's 'In The Air' Wildlife Photography
For photographers, capturing animals in the wild is an art that can take years to master.
But wildlife photographer Paul Goldstein has taken his work to new heights by shooting animals frozen in the air as they leap.
His work sees stunning images showing jumping animals ranging from wildebeest to polar bears.
They include a dramatic flying fight between a baboon and a leopard and the cute, bouncy interaction between a pair of serval kittens.
Paul explains: "Mammals and indeed penguins cannot fly, it would be a physiological miracle if it occurred, but it is wonderful to see them try. It also is rare, which is why I like photographing it as it is a huge challenge. If the shot is successful it always elicits a good response.
"For the money shot there must be no part of the animal attached to a tree/branch/ice or rock. It does not matter if it is an 'air's breath' away, but just nothing touching.
"Air looms high on my agenda, I am obsessed by it, it is exciting photography and frequently original."
Describing the moment the baboon ambushed the leopard, Paul says: "Prime Mates? I don't think so, these are mortal enemies and a whole troop of baboons had 'treed' this young male leopard in the Masai Mara.
"Eventually they left, except one male that waited for the predators descent and jumped out at him. It gave the leopard a good dry slap then the leopard legged it and vaporised in seconds as is their wont.
"Whilst leopards will sometimes kill single baboons, they will avoid whole troops assiduously as they can turn on them. One of my favourite ever photos."

It emerged today that Model William Levy is being sued for 'sexual battery of a minor'
A male model known as the 'Brad Pitt of Cuba' has denied having an affair with Jennifer Lopez.
William Levy, 30, made a shirtless appearance in the pop star's new video I'm Into You, which was filmed in Mexico in April.
The American Idol judge, 41, was shown cosying up to him in sensual beach scenes filmed at Turtle Beach.

Levy separated from his wife of eight years, Elizabeth Gutierrez, a month after the shoot.
Today he dismissed reports he is dating the star, who announced her separation for Marc Anthony on Friday.
A spokesperson for Levy told TMZ: 'The only relationship there was or is, is a professional relationship. ThatÕs all thereÕs ever been.'
The telenovela actor raved about working with the singer after the video shoot.
'It was wonderful. I felt very comfortable. She is a very sincere and fun person,' he said at the time.
'The truth is I had a really great time,' he added. 'It was wonderful to see that someone so huge could be so down to earth, in addition to being really funny.'
Meanwhile, it emerged today that
Levy is being sued for 'sexual battery of a minor.'
Court documents state that on July 19, 2010, Levy, 'with deception and trickery' lured an unnamed plaintiff, into coming back to the Hilton Hotel in Glendale, California and forcing her to perform a sex act on him.
However, Levy is claiming the encounter was consensual.
According to court documents filed by Levy, the plaintiff 'gave consent to any and all alleged acts' and that the alleged victim 'wilfully, fraudulently, and maliciously deceived [Levy] into believing that she

Tens of thousands of mourners gathered to the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the memorial service for the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
And yet all the widespread grief, rumours and hype was put into perspective when his daughter Paris took to the stage and reminded the world that, while they had lost their greatest pop star, she had lost something far more important: 'Daddy'.
Jackson's casket had been brought from the funeral service in the Hollywood Hills to the Center, where it was wheeled in to in front of the stage by the singer's brothers - their last moment together on stage as the Jackson 5.
As well as all the television cameras and the hordes of fans eager to wish their hero farewell, a host of other stars and entertainers were on hand to take the stage and give Jackson their own send-off.
Stevie Wonder, Lionel Ritchie, Mariah Carey, Usher and Brooke Shields all participated in the 90-minute tribute which was televised and broadcast throughout the world.
