J. R. LONDON BOOKMAKER TAKES A SLIMMING COURSE AT THE BEAUTY FARM
Henlow Grange a forty room Tudor Mansion at Henlow, Bedfordshire has become a beauty farm under the guidance of Mrs Leida Costigan, Estonian born wife of de Havilland's designer of guided missiles. The farm became very popular with women who wanted to loose poundage and now men have also taken an interest in taking the reducing courses - clients at the farm pay anything up to 50 guineas per week for the privilege of losing their unwanted weight. Twenty seven year old Thomas Heap of Surbiton Surrey an ex Royal Naval PT Instructor is in charge of the male clients who receive massage treatment under the latest apparatus, wax and foam baths, apart from exercises both indoors and on the extensive lawns which surround the farm. Among the clients who attend for " the treatment " are bank managers, doctors and people from all walks of life - the London Bookmaker who went through one of the courses is Joe Stafford who arrived weighing 14 stone 3lbs and lost 9 pounds in one week, he thoroughly enjoyed his visit and feels a great deal fitter.
