A toilet-mounted camera equipped with artificial intelligence has been unveiled which can monitor a user’s well-being.
Dekoda is a health tracker that analyses what’s in the toilet to assess hydration and gut health.
The sleek, black device attaches to the inner rim of a standard toilet bowl with a simple clamping mechanism.
The main hardware, containing the battery and USB-C port, is visible on the outside of the toilet rim.
The Dekoda contains the optical sensors while camera faces downward into the bowl.
It analyses images of waste samples after each use.
The system’s sensors evaluate hydration levels, identify blood traces, and assess general gut health patterns.
These insights are processed using AI algorithms and presented in the companion app, which compiles health scores and daily summaries.
It has been developed by US bathroom and kitchen company Kohler by its new Kohler Health division.
Dekoda has just gone on sale in the USA for $600 USD / €515 euros.
