The singer was due to appear on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York to promote new album Moon Music. Just before he was due on, Fallon announced that the 47-year-old British musician was un able to make it. He then checked the audience and spotted a local busker who had a portable keyboard with him. It was actually Martin , playing a character called Nigel Crisp dressed in baggy brown suit, wig, and big framed glasses. Fallon , 50, invited him down to play some classic tunes by Lionel Ritchie, Taylor Swift and the Beatles but all were weird made-up on the spot numbers. Asked what he did for a living when not busking , Martin, in character, said he worked in a wax museum to prevent the effigies of stars melting in hot weather.
