A futuristic looking electric off-roader is set to take –off with some expandable bat-style wings. They are not for flying but are in fact flexible solar panels to enable the vehicle to keep on the move in hostile off-road environments where there are no convenient charging stations. The vehicle can also be turned from a four wheeler in a six wheeler with the clip on addition of an extra pair.Although just a proposal for now, the multipurpose EV promises ‘superior on and off-road performance’ and ‘an entirely new level of versatility and functionality’, all with zero emissions. The aptly named Thundertruck features a 180 kWh battery capacity offering a 400 mile / 644 km range in four wheel mode, 800 horsepower, and 800 lb-ft of torque. The collapsible roof-mounted solar awnings help recharge the vehicle’s battery while stationary, doubling as shade from the sun.It can go from 0-60 mph / 0-96 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The six wheel version has a 560 mile / 900 km range thanks to an extra battery pack that comes with the extra set of wheels. The range extender add-on is said to use something called “self-balancing tech” for an easy coupling and uncoupling process.Thundertruck was developed by Los Angeles based creative consultancy Wolfgang through a newly formed division during the first coronavirus lockdown in 2020.

An electric camper that is able to navigate by the stars when there is no GPS signal, has been unveiled.

Chinese car maker GAC Design said the all electric vehicle can be used for camping trips into harsh conditions like deserts.

The four-wheeled off-roader called Van Life  as a part of the GAC Car Culture Series is built for extended journeys with  zero-emissions.

It does come equipped with a  state-of-the-art satellite navigation system but  in places where there’s no connectivity, the intelligent system uses the position of the stars to navigate accurately.

An electric-powered city car that is shipped flat pack is hoping to revolutionise personal transport.

The Swedish-designed four seater Luvly O model weighs just under 400 kg, a quarter of a typical electric vehicle.

The makers say that immediately makes it significantly more energy efficient.
It will also be cheaper to buy and run than almost all electric cars.

The Luvly O has a claimed range of 100 kilometres and a top speed of 90 km.h.

The engine has two removable batteries weighing 15 kilograms each. One can be charged while the other is running the car so spare power is always available.

The vehicle is 2.7 metres long, 1.53 metres wide and 1.44 metres tall.

The parts for Luvly will be shipped flat-pack to small assembly "micro-factories" near major markets before being delivered to customers.

All the parts required for 20 Luvly O cars  can be transported in a single shipping container and nearly all components are said to be recyclable.

Two Tesla employees used skills they learned under Elon Musk to design the first all electric RV mobile home.

Because it provides its own power to move, it does not detract from the range of any vehicle hauling it, especially an electric one.

US company’s Lightship’s L1 has a solar panel covered roof and sleeps up to six inside the eight metre long cabin that features a full kitchen to a complete bathroom and lounge area.

The San Francisco-based firm aims to replace traditional trailers.

Lightship claims to be three times more aerodynamic than a traditional travel trailer, allowing it to be easily towed by a 480 km range electric vehicle.

Lightship L1 is 2.5 metres wide and two metres tall.

But  the roof rises to three metres when the user implements something called  camper mode.

This  raises the trailer's roof to allow people to move freely inside while standing.

The front features a dining area with a wraparound booth for seating that transforms into two large beds.

Founders Ben Parker and Toby Kraus used their Tesla expertise to design Lightship L1 with a self-propulsion system featuring an electric powertrain with up to 80 kWh of onboard battery capacity.
