Jason Harvey, Craig Barlow and Kyle of the VRA , a NSW volunteer- bases rescue organisation took a run out on a swollen but decreasing Manning River this morning for a medical run to the isolate township of Croki, where waiting was Michele Bennett. The VRA men took a stroll through the flooded streets to see if any other people required help. Michele’s house had been inundated, the water coming up around 60-70cm. She is pictured with Mario Agis ( orange pants ) who made a measurement of the flood, comparing it with the 2021 flood event. Flooded homes and rescues are seen along the river. NSW. Australia

Novocastrian Sharon (first name only) takes her daily swim with Diesel (dog) just 24hrs before authorities place an exclusion zone over Newcastle Harbour to prevent the much anticipated Rising Tide flotilla from taking to the water. The exclusion zone initially included Nobby's Beach but after public backlash was removed. Horseshoe Beach, a favoured destination for Novocastrian dog owners to swim and run their pets, remains firmly in the exclusion zone." I swim here everyday and while I support the protestors, I'm not part of the actual protest," she said, adding "It is really starting to feel like a police state." Sharon takes Diesel out on a lilo with her as coal carriers make their way up the harbour to the loading terminals.

Bill Kimber from Wagga, NSW, demonstrates shearing at the TAFE NSW exhibit. Bill has been shearing professionally since 1968 and teaching shearing at Wagga TAFE for 35 years. He estimates he’s been to HMFD around 25 times.
