Brian Halloran and Michael Donohue were machine gunned to death while driving on Northern Ave in this car allegedly by the Whitey Bulger and his gang. Evidence photo. James "Whitey" Bulger (born September 3, 1929) is a former organized crime figure from South Boston depicted as a Robin Hood–style social bandit. Beginning in 1975, Bulger served as an informant for the FBI. In 1994, Federal prosecutors indicted him for 19 murders, and after being tipped off by his former FBI handler about the pending indictment, he fled Boston and went into hiding. For sixteen years, he remained at large. For twelve of those years, Bulger was prominently listed on the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. On June 22, 2011, Bulger was arrested outside an apartment in Santa Monica, California. His trial opened in Boston in June 2013.
