'Neon Luminance' Glow Stick Waterfall Photography

These stunning images show picturesque waterfalls transformed into rainbows of colour.

The otherworldy images are created by clever use of long exposure photography and glow sticks floating through water.

The Neon Luminance series is the brainchild of Sean Lenz, 19, and Kristoffer Abildgaard, 20, a photography duo based in California.

Kristoffer, originally from Copenhagen, explains: "This project came from months of refining a simple idea that finally turned into a concept worthy of using for an entire series.

"We were both fascinated by artificial light such as glow sticks, lasers, flares, and being big on landscape photography we tied them together in hopes of creating something that we had never seen before.

"Although we are not giving out the details as to how we did everything in the images we will disclose that they are long exposures taken between 30s and 7m of different landscapes where one person is standing at the drop point, strategically placing glow sticks in the right areas to flow into the frame of the image, while the other person is manning the camera and catching the glow sticks as they leave the frame.

The duo say they are so pleased with the results they wish to expand the idea of bringing artificial colour to natural landscapes.

"Although this series was meant to focus mostly on glow sticks in waterfalls, we are exploring the idea of creating artificially lit landscapes in general as well, such as mountains, lakes, tree lines, grass fields and caves," adds Kristoffer.

    Photographer explores Vatnajökull glacie using Sony's back-illuminated full-frame sensor, Iceland - 25 Nov 2015
    *Full story: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/rm22
Photographer Mikael Buck with assistance from renowned local Icelandic guide Einar Runar Sigurdsson, explored the frozen world of Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland using Sony's world first back-illuminated full-frame sensor, which features in the 7R II camera. His images were taken without use of a tripod or any image stitching techniques in photoshop. This was made possible through Sony's new sensor technology, allowing incredibly detailed low-light hand held photography. Previously images this detailed would have required carrying bulky equipment to the caves, some of which can require hiking and climbing over a glacier for up to two hours to to access. The images were taken without the use of any external sources - just the natural light that filters through the ice caves.

Moscow Cracks: Amazing 3D Street Art Cave
    **EXCLUSIVE**

Here's an artist whose work is all that it's cracked up to be.

Edgar Mueller made the earth split open last week with a jaw-dropping piece of 3D street art.

He daubed a chilling depiction of a perilous fissure in paint outside a shopping mall in Moscow.

But making the earth moved proved difficult on this project - which he calls Duality - as Moscow was experiencing choking smog from forest fires.

In fact, Edgar's team had to wear gas masks to combat the dust and were forced to seek shelter in the shopping malls when conditions got too bad.

"Even before I left, the media reported on the disaster that was caused there by the forest and peat fires and unfortunately still persisted," Edgar explains. "After consulting with my team, I decided nevertheless to fly to Moscow - which I have to admit was somewhat naive. The conditions that we found there were terrifying."

The project took five days to complete, working from early morning to noon to escape the heat.

The work was originally going to be a tribute to the beauty of nature called The Lagoon, but the adverse conditions made Edgar change his mind.

"The idea of a holiday scene in central Moscow appealed to me. But given the circumstances which appeared in the city I decided this title was no longer appropriate.

"I decided to call it Duality to reflect how nature can be both beautiful and terrifying at the same time."

FEATURE - 'Yacht Mogul' entwirft Superyacht mit eigenem Wasserfall
Instagram star and yachting influencer Denis Suka, a.k.a. The Yacht Mogul, has come up with a luxurious new design for a new vessel - featuring its own waterfall.

The social media star teamed with Abbasli Design for the new concept christened simply Mogul 777 - as it is 77.7 metres long.

It has a steel hull and aluminum superstructure - and is full of lavish luxuries including nine cabins and a master suite with a spacious owner’s deck. It has a central fire pit surrounded by curved lounges, as well as a helipad.

Its party-piece, however is a swimming pool that sits beneath a glass-bottomed aquarium - with the two water features linked by a waterfall. This allows guests to swim while marvelling at the marine life above.

Suka has become an influential figure in the yachting industry - with more than 763,000 followers on Instagram. After rising to fame by designing a superyacht project called Mogul in November 2020, he now designs sells, and charters luxury boats and yachts.

Describing how he came about his unusual career, the Norwegian influencer says: “I was always curious to know more about those luxury mega toys moving through seas and oceans anchoring in the world’s most famous harbours and drawing everyone’s attention.

“I said to myself that there must be something special about superyachts and that’s where I belong.”

The entrepreneur can be found on Instagram via @theyachtmogul.
