The People Made Their Feelings Clear By Reserving The Biggest Cheer Of The Day For A Smiling Baroness Margaret Thatcher. Sir John Major Was Left To Look Like An Interested Bystander. Neil Kinnock Who Was Less Than Enthusiastic About A Welcome Home Party Was Booed. After The Unrestrained Jingoism Of The American Celebrations The City Put On A Parade That Came And Went In Just Ten Minutes. But As With The Gulf War Itself It Was A Display Of British Professionalism That Made This Subdued Celebration Strike The Right Note.
