More than 100,000 attend anti-Trump protest in Washington, DC
A skeleton offers to donate a spine to Congress at the Washington Monument during a protest against the Trump administration’s massive employment and funding cuts, and authoritarian seizure of power in Washington, U.S., on April 5, 2025. Most of the closures and cuts have been executed by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and numerous lawsuits have been filed to contest the constitutionality of DOGE and specific actions it has taken. Oreiller en six pièces pour faciliter le sommeil - Picture MUST credit: Modular Pillow A new pillow is promising sweet dreams — by supporting the whole body. The memory-foam-filled pillow is made up of six sections which Velcro together. It is said to offer orthopaedic comfort for neck , back and knees for deeper sleep. According to its inventor, US doctor Aaron Fu, the Modular Pillow was developed on the medically-backed 45° sleep position.??It is designed to help maintain natural spine curvature, reducing morning aches and allowing the body to achieve full restful, deep sleep periods. A patented octagonal design prevents arm-under-pillow positioning which can cause circulation problems, while reducing pressure on the neck while supporting the lumbar region. The configuration when all the pillow’s pieces are fixed together means the head, neck shoulders, back, hips and knees align reducing joint pressure This also offers a 'hugging' sensation that Dr Fu says helps reduce anxiety, lowers stress and improves sleep quality. This position is claimed to be proven to have respiratory and circulation benefits while also reducing sleep apnea. It is also said to assist with cardiovascular health and reduce acid reflux. There is also a special benefit for pregnant mums as it is said to reduce back strain and improve fetal blood flow. Picture supplied by JLPPA

SCHICKSALE - Ein Baby ist nach Wirbelsäulenschaden dank einer Operation im Mutterleib nach nur 24 Wochen Schwangerschaft zur Welt gekommen
MERCURY PRESS - (PICTURED Fetal surgery on Emily) A baby has made a miraculous recovery from spinal damage to be a healthy, fully mobile little girl thanks to surgery in the womb at only 24 weeks into the pregnancy. Rebecca Malkie, 37, had already enjoyed two healthy, full term pregnancies before she fell pregnant with her third child, Emily, now 20 months. Doctors noticed something was wrong after normal pregnancy checks revealed Rebecca had five times the normal amount of an enzyme present in the brain and spinal cord in her blood. A two-hour ultrasound at 16.5 weeks confirmed that baby Emily's spinal cord had not developed properly in the womb, leaving her with a gap that was leaking spinal fluid - a rare condition called spina bifida. Uraeus, the first outdoor public sculpture by artist Anselm Kiefer is seen at Rockefeller Square near Fifth Avenue in Manhattan in New York City on Wednesday, 02. The work is on display until July 22. The Ureaus, presented by Gagosian and organized by the Public Art Fund and Tishman Speyer, consists of a giant open book with eagle wings 30 feet long, made entirely of lead, on top of a 20-foot-high stainless steel column . Grouped around the base of the spine are even larger lead books, while a large snake coils the spine. Lead is one of the artist's preferred materials for its fluid and soft properties traditionally associated with alchemical transformation, especially its second stage: dissolution. A rescued baby hedgehog will never be able to attract a mate because of a mystery skin condition which has left her completely bald and without spines.
Betty was abandoned by her family before she was found by a member of the public and handed in to staff at an animal rescue centre.
Animal experts are baffled by her mystery skin condition, which has caused the lonely hedgehog's skin to become dry and left her without any spines.
