THE DUKE ' JIMMY THE ONE ' NOW , FLIES TO REJOIN FLEET
The Duke of Edinburgh flew from London airport in an aircraft of the Kings flight from Malta to take up his duties as First- Lieutenant - known in the Navy as Jimmy the one '- aboard the destroyer H.M.S. ' Chequers'.
He was accompanied by his aunt Countess Mountbatten, and cousin, Lady Pamela Mountbatten, who are going to Malta to rejoin Earl Mountbatten, who commands the first cruiser Squadron.
The Duke rejoins the fleet after being on the half-pay list as a Lieutenant since September, 1948.
It is reported that Princess Elizabeth may go for a brief visit to Malta during the eighteen months or so that the Duke will be stationed there.

Princess Elizabeth appeared at the Young Wives' Rally, a meeting Mother's Union, at central Hall, Westminster, London, today.
She was scheduled to address the meeting.
The meeting of several hundred young delegates from all parts of Britain were to present to Princess Elizabeth a toy, a cheque, and a book entitled ' Jesus of Nazareth ' , for Prince Charles.
