Supreme Court hears case that could restrict Medicaid
A member of Abortion Access Front displays a faux magazine cover featuring Justice Amy Barrett at a rally in support of Plannerd Parenthood at the Supreme Court during oral arguments over whether Medicaid must pay for visits to abortion providers for care not related to abortion, in Washington, April 2, 2025. The case, Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, tests whether states can refuse Medicaid payments to clinics that provide abortions. Paraorchestra: Death Songbook live review - bittersweet ballads with Brett Anderson and friends.
Charles Hazlewood’s boundary-breaking ensemble guide the Suede singer and special guests through an elegiac evening grown out of the pandemic.

Brett Anderson and the ParaOrchestra perform a cycle of songs about death called "Death Songbook" Brett Anderson and Chales Hazelwood
This rich set – amplified by the diversity and virtuosity of Paraorchestra musicians in new arrangements by composer Charlotte Harding – features delicate new versions of songs about death, the death of love, of loss, and ultimately of transcendence. It reminds us that music is our greatest friend in bleak times; inviting us to crouch around a candle and meet our sorrow head-on, comforting, nourishing, and uplifting.
Paraorchestra is an ensemble of disabled and non-disabled professional musicians led by Charles Hazelwood. Brett Anderson is the lead singer of the band Suede.

A unique reading light is ready to brighten up the pages of books by forming an illuminated arch from front to back cover.

The Bowio Book Light is claimed to cast the perfect glow across every page.

The makers also say it won’t disturb a partner if the user is reading in bed.

It uses six LED lights inserted into the real or vegan leather strap that connects front and back of both hard and soft cover tomes.

The strap is attached through magnets in the spayed endings which clamp the cover between them.

The lights themselves can be powered by disposable AAA batteries or plugged in using a USB port which also powers rechargeable batteries.

The light has touch controls for adjusting brightness.

The device starts from €55 euros for the vegan leather option and has been fully funded on crowdfunding site Kickstarter raising more than €140,000 euros from a €9,000 euros goal with the campaign due to end two days after Christmas.

There is also an elite 24K gold gilded leather version for €275 euros.
