Yvonne Craig 1937-2015 American Actress
August 17, 2015 - YVONNE CRAIG, the actress best known for playing Batgirl in the 1960s Batman TV series, has died at the age of 78. She had suffered from breast cancer, which had spread to her liver. A trained dancer, she began her career at The Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and used those skills to perform her own stunts as Batgirl alongside Adam West in the 1960's TV show 'Batman.' Craig also starred in two movies opposite Elvis Presley 'It Happened at the World's Fair' and 'Kissin' Cousins.' His wife Erica said he passed from a long illness. He was also known for his writing and directing work on blockbusters 'Caddyshack' and 'Groundhog Day.' His health problems began in mid-2010, after surgery for diverticulitis which brought on complications related to the autoimmune disease. He spent four months learning to walk again, regained his strength - and walking abilities, then a year and a half later suffered a relapse and never completely recovered.
