A stunning array of images showing nature in all its glory from dancing insects to a magnificent meteor have been selected as winners in the annual Glanzlichter photo contest. A picture of a large brown bear and a tiny bird taken in Slovenia came top in the nature competition, which has been held for the last 21 years and is open to photographers from around the world. Michaela Walch, from Austria, spent five hours waiting in a hide to capture the incredible photo, which she called David and Goliath. There were nine categories in the contest, which saw photos submitted from 40 different countries and the judges spent four days selecting the winners.

As Valentine's approaches couples express affection to their loved ones in a variety of ways - including one man who takes back-facing portraits of his wife.
Self-taught photographer and Economics Professor Fabio Sabatini and his wife Alessandra Gualtieri travel the world, visiting European countries Greece and Spain, as well as Asian countries, like Bali and Thailand; Sabatini shoots Alessandra when she's gazing at the amazing sights.
While Alessandra is looking in awe at the historic sites or the breathtaking views, unbeknown to her, Fabio is taking her picture from behind creating a powerful, faceless image.
Highlights include Alessandra throwing her hands up in delight when she spots a blossom tree in bloom, relaxing and taking in the view while visiting Patmo in Greece and walking in the bustling city of Paris.
The couple, who live in Rome started the series titled shoulders in December 2009 in Galicia in Spain.
Sabatini visually expresses his love for his wife, giving viewers a glimpse in to his life.
Fabio said: "Initially, my purpose was to represent the melancholic mood we share most of the time. So I realised how powerful a faceless, sometimes mysterious, portrait can be.
"It is much more interesting and challenging to represent a complex set of feelings by framing the model's hair and shoulders in a proper - suggestive, dreamy or even scary and nightmarish - background, instead of simply and plainly picturing her expression.
"This also leads the watcher to actively focus on what the photo makes her/him feel - and possibly to imagine what the photographer's and the model's feelings may have been ...

This incredible collection of furniture has one thing in common - it is all made from hay. The GBP 1,400 set, which is made up of two armchairs and a pouf, is stuffed with hay imported from Italy. Designer Fabio Del Percio was inspired by the grass plains of Iceland for the work, which is available to buy online. The furniture is made from a fire-resistant, breathable PVC which allows for the smell of the hay to come through and each piece is lined with hessian. Each piece is handmade and takes between half a day and a day and a half to complete depending on the complexity. Online retailer e-side.co.uk recommends the hay is changed once every two years to keep it fresh. Fabio, 38, said: "The idea came to me when travelling through the Icelandic countryside, on different occasions and in different seasons. "I love Iceland and I am planning to move there soon. This incredible collection of furniture has one thing in common - it is all made from hay. The GBP 1,400 set, which is made up of two armchairs and a pouf, is stuffed with hay imported from Italy. Designer Fabio Del Percio was inspired by the grass plains of Iceland for the work, which is available to buy online. The furniture is made from a fire-resistant, breathable PVC which allows for the smell of the hay to come through and each piece is lined with hessian. Each piece is handmade and takes between half a day and a day and a half to complete depending on the complexity. Online retailer e-side.co.uk recommends the hay is changed once every two years to keep it fresh. Fabio, 38, said: "The idea came to me when travelling through the Icelandic countryside, on different occasions and in different seasons. "I love Iceland and I am planning to move there soon. I was fascinated by the grass plains going into the seaside."
