July 24, 2018 - Munich, Bavaria, Germany - The Minister-President of Bavaria MARKUS SODER (MARKUS SÖDER) made an appearance at the Lange Nacht der Frauen Union (Long Night of the Womens’ Union) at the CSU-Landesleitung. Soder has become a devisive figure in Bavaria and Germany due to the institution of policies including the hanging of crosses in public offices. Critics also are vocal against Soder’s use of the term “Asyltourism†or “asylum tourismâ€Â, strongly implying that asylum seekers have vacation-like conditions while on the run and after arriving in Germany. In contrast, Soder wants to fortify Germany’s borders against irregular migration, taking on an international role despite being a regional politician. This Friday Dr. Soder will dedicate the new deportation center in Manching near Ingolstadt (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)

July 18, 2018 - Munich, Bavaria, Germany - The political performing arts troupe das Zentrum fuer Politische Schoenheit (The Center for Political Beauty) organized a political action at the headquarters of the Bavarian CSU party, grounding the CDU party in Bavaria as a form of protest. During the demonstration the group brought in a mobile crane and covered the CSU’s sign with that of the CDU. It took scrambling police more than 30 minutes to bring the troupe member down, during which they called in dozens of reinforcements who then carried out dozens of identity checks on the viewers for later prosecution. Furthermore, the lawyer for the group was also arrested. The group mentions looking into filing complaints against the police due to alleged statements construed as wishing the troupe member in the crane to fall...The CSU is the increasingly far-right conservative sister party of Angela Merkel's CDU, the latter of the two does not exist in Bavaria. As of late, the CSU under Horst Seehofer snd Markus Soder (Söder) have been drawing national and international criticisms, including having brought the German government to the edge of dissolving. Critics allege that the CSU is creating an atmosphere of fear and hate, not only in Bavaria and Germany, but internationally. Among the ZfPS actions include erecting replicas of the stones used at the Berlin Holocaust Memorial next to the home of the AfD's Bjoern Hoecke (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)

Several thousands followed the invitation of the trade unions such as IG Metall, Verdi, GEW and others to protest at the international worker's day in Munich. NEWS - München: Angela Merkel im Festzelt bei der Truderinger Festwoche
May 28, 2017 - MüNchen, Bayern, Germany - Signs endorsing Merkel. The Bundeskanzlerin (Chancellor) of Germany Angela Merkel (CDU) visited a beer tent in the Trudering district of Munich’s east end, hosted by her Bavarian sister party, the CSU (Christian Socialist Union). The event was rescheduled from the 23rd due to the terror attack in Manchester. This visit was designed to be a more relaxed affair than previous ones, as Merkel’s CDU and its branch in Bavaria, the right-conservative CSU, have had antagonistic relations as of late. Despite the negative relations often reported in the media, particularly due to critical statements by CSU head Horst Seehofer, questionnaires reveal 73% of the party’s followers back Merkel’s confirmation for another term. Issues of particular disagreement revolves around refugee policy and the refugee crisis and national security. Approximately 2,500 were in attendance. The event was designed to draw as many CSU voters possible to support Merkel. A portion of the CSU’s disenfranchised voters feel the party is not sufficiently right-leaning, thus they are voting for the radical-right Alternative fuer Deutschland (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)
