Lawrence Faun, 26-year-old bank clerk, in the Kensington Register office, Cheniston Lodge Gardens, London. Wedding was conducted by Mr. C.E. Western, the father of the bride and the superintendent registrar of marriages for Kensington since 1930 , it is believed that he is the first superintendent registrar to perform the ceremony for his own daughter.     The twenty-year-old bride is the daughter of racehorse owner Mr.Stanhope Joel, who practised as a barrister before he switched to the turf. The Joel's have a flat in Park Lane and a house at Cranleigh, Surrey.

    London staged a ' diamond ' wedding-the most lavish this year-as St Peter's, Eaton Square, when Mr Dana Joel , granddaughter of the late diamond magnate, Solly Joel, was married to captain chandos Brudenell-Bruce, twenty-six, only son of Colonel and Mrs. Robert H.Brudenell-Bruce of Hill farm, Hartley wintney, Hampshire.
    The twenty-year-old bride is the daughter of racehorse owner Mr. Stanhope Joel, who practised as a barrister before he switched to the turf. The Joels have a flat in Park Lane and a house at Cranleigh, Surrey.

    NEILSON-SHEPPARD WEDDING UNITES THEATRE COUPLE IN LONDON

    A wedding united an actor and a ballet dancer when Major Nigel Fraser Nelson , M.C., 29, was married to miss Pamela Catherine Georgina Shepherd , 26, in St Mark's, North Audley Street, London, today.
    An original wedding march, played at the ceremony, was composed as a wedding gift to the couple by Mr. Jack strach . Major Nelson, who came to this country in 1938, is the son of Colonel.W Neilson D.S.O., and Mrs.M.F.A Neilson of Summerlee, Hastings, New Zealand. during World War II, The bridegroom served with the ' Desert Rats' and with the special air service.
    He was awarded the military Cross for gallantry in the Middle East. Miss Shepherd, the daughter of the late S.M.P.Shepherd and of Mrs.B Shepherd of Shirley, Surrey, danced with the Vic- Wells ballet company and has appeared in many West end shows. She was with Ensa ' in World War II, entertaining troops.

    5 November 1949

    Captain Derrick Baynham , Royal Signals , whose heroism as a schoolboy gained him a war-time George Medal , was married to Miss Ann Park at St James's Spanish Place, London.
    In 1942 when he was 17 Captain Baynham and another boy went out in a dinghy through a gale in an attempt to rescue the crew of an RAF plane that crashed off the Welsh coast. Four other boats were sunk in rescue attempts and eleven lives were lost. For their bravery Baynham and his companion were awareded the G.M.
    Captain Baynham is the son of Major J L Baynham (retired) and Mrs Baynham of Walton on Thames. His bride is the daughter of the late Mr James J Park of Ceylon and Somerset and of Mrs Park of Morpeth Mansions, Westminster.

    Miss Elizabeth Hardinge of Wimborne, Dorset, younger daughter of Lord Hardinge of Penshurst, was married at St James's church, Spanish place, London today to captain John Johnston, M.C., Grenadier guards, who is A.D.C. to Major General J.C.O. Marriott, commanding London district.
    Captain Johnston's home is near the bride's .
    Ms Hardinge, who served for three years in the women's Royal naval service, was until recently a secretary at the Siamese embassy. her father, who was assistant private secretary to King George V, was Private Secretary to King Edwards VIII and to the present King from 1936 to 1943.
