ISIS demolition of Baalshamin Temple
ISIS have continued their destructive rampage in Palmyra by destroying the Temple of Baalshamin.
Photos released by the group show the ancient Graeco-Roman structure being rigged with explosives before they're detonated.
The explosion brought down the inner sanctum, or cella, and surrounding pillars.
The Temple of Baalshamin was built nearly 2,000 years ago and was considered the second most important structure at Palmyra.
The act has been widely condemned internationally and the UN's cultural organisation said that it constituted a 'war crime'.

DIONYSOS' PORTARA, NAXOS ISLAND, CYCLADES, GREECE
Dionysus, the God of wine and pleasure, joined up with Ariadne, the pre-Hellenic goddess of fertility. Their union endowed the island with fruitful grapevines and a fertile soil. The first view of the visitor entering the port of Naxos is that of the renowned "Portara". The ruins of a temple dedicated to Apollo are preserved around it to this day. Its construction started the 6th century BC during the rule of the tyrant Lygdamis but was never completed because he was exiled by his people, after the lost war against the tyrant of Samos.
