NEWS - Geheimakten zum Kennedy-Attentat werden veröffentlicht
October 26, 2017 - FILE - The government is due to release Thursday more than 3,000 files about the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy. The files would be the last to be released by the National Archives under a 1992 law that ordered the government to make all remaining documents pertaining to the assassination public. There has long been a trove of conspiracy theories surrounding Kennedy's death in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963, including doubts about whether assassin Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, as the Warren Commission determined in its report the following year. Pictured: Nov. 25, 1963 - Washington D.C., USA - The shocking death of President JOHN F. KENNEDY stood at the forefront of a period of political and social instability in the country. Jacqueline led the nation in mourning as the President lay in repose at the White House and then lay in state in the Capitol. The funeral service was held for the President at St. Matthew's Cathedral. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery. FEATURE - US-Zirkus lässt nach 146 Jahren den letzten Vorhang fallen
January 14, 2017 - File - From New York to Wisconsin to London and beyond, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus has performed for millions of fans during its 146-year reign as one of the world's biggest big tops. The show, which is closing down permanently because of declining ticket sales, has its roots in a spectacle that began two decades before the U.S. Civil War, equal parts zoo, museum and freak show. In 1881 it officially became the circus that generations grew up watching and saw many evolutions over the years, most recently with its decision to retire its elephant acts.
