A designer who created pairs of square and then triangular-shaped wheels for his bike has unveiled a machine with no wheels !

US-based Sergii Gordieiev used two home-made tank-like caterpillar tracks.

The metal bodied tracks incorporate bike chains to propel them topped with real bicycle rubber treads.

The tracks fit where tradition a traditional wheel hub joins the bike frame.

To enable the pedals to drive the belt system, Gordieiev introduced an additional gear, connecting the pedals to the apex of the rear wheel.

Each of the tracks sits on its end, angled towards the rider.

For stability, the wheels were securely affixed at two points, ensuring they each stay at the set angle.

When being pedalled only the bottoms of the two tracks touch the road.

Engineer Gordieiev , who goes by the title The Q, has more than 13 million YouTube subscribers.

He said: “This bike doesn't have wheels at all. Why did we do it? Just for fun !”
