A Los Angeles-based company has produced a new lip balm that it claims boosts energy, suppresses hunger and burns fat.
'Burner Balm' contains a trio of natural ingredients that all reduce appetite: Hoodia Extract, Chromium Picolinate and Natural Caffeine, which also restores alertness.
Natural Green Tea Extract has also been added for increased energy and metabolism.
The balm was the brainchild of Dr. Allan Kurtz in direct response to complaints made by his patients in regards to weight gain and lack of energy.
In practice for 25 years, Kurtz realized that he much preferred preventative medicine rather than treating patients battling diseases resulting from obesity.
"Oral gratification is the biggest challenge to weight loss so I decided to develop a product that mocks that gratification, and Burner Balm was born," says Dr. Kurtz.
According to its manufacturers, Pacific Shore Holdings, the $5.99 Burner Balm is a healthy alternative to energy drinks or energy shots, which can be loaded with chemicals and sugars.
And in addition to is weight loss and energy increasing properties the balm also provides a protective barrier from the harsh elements, locking in moisture on the lips, while preventing them from drying out and becoming chapped.

How's this for SHEER cheek - an organisation is promoting tights for men.
London-based e-MANcipate's aim to make so-called 'Mantyhose' acceptable attire for red-blooded males.
But rather than target cross-dressers the group want to see them worn by the man in the street as a "fashion alternative".
Their website is packed with tips and ideas for the male stocking wearer, with one of the discussion topics being "Is pink pantyhose too femmy for men?"
Harisnya, the founder of e-MANcipate, says: "We estimate that one in two thousand men wears pantyhose as a regular clothing item in the developed world. We estimate, however, that one in five men wore some kind of pantyhose/tights in his life (e.g. skiing) and would try it again under right circumstances.
"Male pantyhose can be worn for health, sports and fashion. So we aim to show that pantyhose could be a regular clothing item for men.
"I like to wear pantyhose - just like many other men - because I like the soft material, the support it gives to my legs and body, and because I find it very practical many times. So as a men I was very disappointed to see that pantyhose is a ladies' garment - it's not logical.
"It could be really a great fun - it's a new part of the male body that could be dressed."

How's this for SHEER cheek - an organisation is promoting tights for men.
London-based e-MANcipate's aim to make so-called 'Mantyhose' acceptable attire for red-blooded males.
But rather than target cross-dressers the group want to see them worn by the man in the street as a "fashion alternative".
Their website is packed with tips and ideas for the male stocking wearer, with one of the discussion topics being "Is pink pantyhose too femmy for men?"
Harisnya, the founder of e-MANcipate, says: "We estimate that one in two thousand men wears pantyhose as a regular clothing item in the developed world. We estimate, however, that one in five men wore some kind of pantyhose/tights in his life (e.g. skiing) and would try it again under right circumstances.
"Male pantyhose can be worn for health, sports and fashion. So we aim to show that pantyhose could be a regular clothing item for men.
"I like to wear pantyhose - just like many other men - because I like the soft material, the support it gives to my legs and body, and because I find it very practical many times. So as a men I was very disappointed to see that pantyhose is a ladies' garment - it's not logical.
"It could be really a great fun - it's a new part of the male body that could be dressed."
