Paul McCartney with his Official Chart Record Breaker Award
Paul McCartney receives the Official Chart Record Breaker Award, Pennsylvania, USA - Jul 2016
*Video available*
Paul McCartney has become the latest recipient of the new Official Chart Record Breaker Award - a prestigious new accolade presented to a selected elite of artists achieving the greatest feats on the Official Chart. The music icon's impact on the Official Albums Chart across the past six decades has seen him racking up an astonishing 22 Number 1 albums as a member of The Beatles (15 Number 1s), Wings (2 Number 1s), through his Paul McCartney solo projects (4 Number 1s) and his work with Linda McCartney (1). Since his debut Number 1 as a member The Beatles in May 1963 with Please Please Me (the longest-running Number 1 debut album in chart history at 30 weeks), McCartney has taken hold of the Official Albums Chart like no other individual, past or present. Spending a staggering 191 weeks on the albums throne across a 50+ year career, the former Beatle also claims the UK chart record for the most weeks spent at Number 1.

Silk production - from worm to catwalk, southern India - 2010
SILK PRODUCTION - FROM WORM TO CATWALK
For many silk - the Queen of all fabrics - spells luxury, elegance, class and comfort.
But for hundreds of thousands of people in India it is something much more mundane but infinitely important - a vital life line.
An estimated 700,000 people are involved in various sericulture (silk production) activities in India.
Half of all the silk produced in India comes from the region of Karnataka where a sub-tropical climate allows for year-round production.
In 2007-08 India exported more than GBP 400 million of raw silk, carpets and ready made garments.
In 2007 alone it produced 18,320 metric tonnes of raw silk, making it the second a largest silk producer in the world.
It is second only behind China, which produced 108,420 metric tonnes of raw silk in the same period.
While the difference is vast, India's contribution is even more impressive considering that much of its production is done using outdated tools or by hand.
Ultimately, however, poor technology and high production costs undermine the vital role played by sericulture in improving India's rural economy.
The Worm
The Silkworm Seed Production Centre in Mysore is run by Professor N.M. Biram Saheb.
He explains that the Indian government pioneered the provision of disease free lays of eggs as a way of improving yields without increasing start-up costs
The practice means that farmers are provided with a steady stream of healthy silkworm eggs.
It is deep in the seed production centre where the 'work' of creating these eggs takes place - in darkened rooms where moths are laid out on newspaper in racks of plastic trays.
Powerhouses of the silk industry they may be, but in reality they are pale weaklings whose only purpose is to mat...

CURRYWURST CRAZE: GERMAN SAUCY SAUSAGE DISH GETS OWN MUSEUM
Germany's favourite fast food has been immortalised in its very own museum - the Deutsches Currywurst Museum.
Located in Berlin, the museum is a sausage shrine dedicated to all things currywurst - sliced hot pork sausage swimming in a curry-tomato sauce.
Currywurst is as German as pizza is Italian, hot dogs are American, and fish and chips British.
With sauce recipes that vary from city to city and even fast food stand to fast food stand, in Berlin alone around 70 million currywursts are consumed every year.
The new museum opened in August 2009 to commemorate the dish's 60th birthday.
It explores all aspects of the traditional fare, as well as doling out samples of the tasty favorite to hungry visitors.
Exhibits include sausage sofas, a curry "spice chamber" and a movie montage of all-time currywurst cameos.
According to the museum the currywurst craze can be traced back to post-war Berlin in 1949, when the city had been left devastated from the war.
At the time the dish was known as "poor man's steak" because most Germans couldn't afford a proper piece of meat.
According to legend it was a German housewife called Herta Heuwer who first rustled up the dish after getting her hands on some English curry from British soldiers.
She started sellling her dish from a street stand on the fringes of what was to become Berlin's red-light district and it quickly became a favourite with locals.
At its height Mrs Heuwer's stand was selling some 10,000 servings per week and she later opened a small restaurant that operated until 1974.
Her success saw imitat...

Edward Allcard , Surrey , England , sailed from Gibraltar to the United States in a 29ft ketch , alone , in 81 days . During his trip he was assailed by sharks, becalmed, and left blistering in the hot sun off Bermuda , tossed about like a cork in the Atlantic gales and storms . He did it because he did not like the austerity of England.
