Iranian missile strikes major Israeli hospital in Beersheba
June 19, 2025 - Beersheba, Israel: Iran fired a barrage of some 30 ballistic missiles early today, scoring a direct hit on Israel’s main southern hospital, the Soroka Medical Center, the largest hospital in southern Israel. A missile hit the old surgical ward building at Soroka, a relatively old building that had been evacuated in recent days. A floor at Soroka that was hit had been evacuated of patients only the day before amid the war. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that the ballistic missile that hit the hospital was aimed at an adjacent military and intelligence headquarters. There are no Israeli military facilities in the vicinity of Soroka Hospital. The IDF’s Southern Command base is located over two kilometers away, and there is an under-construction army base just over a kilometer away. Cleaning crews and staff were quick at recovering and salvaging medical equipment. A bronze head statue of David Ben Gurion resisted the impact of the missile. Ben Gurion was the primary national founder and first prime minister of the State of Israel. (Ziv Koren / Polaris) (FOTO:DUKAS/POLARIS) -

Tensions exist between the police and climbers who hang Palestinian flags on the Statue of Liberty of the Monument de la Republique, leading to their arrest. This occurs after a pro-Palestinian demonstration called by several French unions at the Place de la Republique in Paris, France, on June 14, 2025. The French Democratic Confederation of Labour trade union (CFDT), the French trade union General Confederation of Labour (CGT), the French National Union of Autonomous Trade Unions (Unsa), the French group of trade unions Union syndicale Solidaires (SUD), and the French trade union ''Federation Syndicale Unitaire'' (FSU) call for people to join ''the mobilisation for Palestine'' on June 14, 2025, and denounce ''the Israeli authorities' mortifying headlong rush and the atrocities'' in Gaza, according to a joint statement.
