The first trailer for Jake GyllenhaalÔs upcoming movie Stronger, based on the story of Boston Marathon Bombing survivor Jeff Bauman, has been released.

On April 15, 2013, Bauman was at the finish line of the Boston Marathon to cheer on his ex-girlfriend Erin Hurley (Tatiana Maslany) in an effort to win her back. When a blast rips through the crowd, killing three people and injuring scores of others, Jeff goes from being an ordinary working-class 27-year-old to a double amputee fighting for his life. As Boston and the world reel in shock and anger, a photo of Jeff being carried from the blast site becomes an iconic image of the attack.

Despite his injuries, the unassuming Costco worker becomes a national hero by helping law enforcement identify one of the bombers. In the months following the blast, Jeff tackles intensive physical and emotional rehabilitation with the unwavering support of Erin and his family. It is JeffÕs deeply personal account of the heroic journey that tests a familyÕs bond, defines a communityÕs pride and inspires his inner courage to overcome devastating adversity.

Stronger, based on BaumanÔs best-selling memoir, will hit theaters on September 22.

ZOOKEEPER'S WIFE: NEW MOVIE PICS BRING THE TRUE STORY TO LIFE

Adapted from Diane Ackerman’s nonfiction book of the same name, The Zookeeper’s Wife movie is based on the diaries of Antonina Zabinski and is directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider, North Country).

The Zookeeper’s Wife dramatizes a real-life story of heroism. The time is 1939. The place is Poland, homeland of Antonina Zabinski (portrayed by Ms. Chastain) and her husband, Dr. Jan Zabinski (Johan Heldenbergh, a European Film Award nominee for the Academy Award-nominated The Broken Circle Breakdown). The Warsaw Zoo flourishes under Jan’s stewardship and Antonina’s care. When their country is invaded by the Nazis, Jan and Antonina are forced to report to the Reich’s newly appointed chief zoologist, Lutz Heck (Daniel Brühl of Captain America: Civil War). The Zabinskis covertly begin working with the Resistance – and put into action plans to save the lives of hundreds from what has become the Warsaw Ghetto, with Antonina putting herself and her children at great risk.

Picture shows: Jessica Chastain and Johan Heldenbergh as husband and wife Antonina and Dr. Jan Zabinski in a scene from the movie.
