Nepal Calls For Donations For Reconstruction As Damage To Public And Government Infrastructure Estimates To Be Above 1 Trillion During Gen-Z Protests
The Government of Nepal holds a press conference to announce the formation of a fund collection campaign for the reconstruction of infrastructures damaged during the Gen-Z movement in Kathmandu, Nepal, on September 25, 2025. The interim government of Nepal appeals for donations to reconstruct the public and government infrastructure damaged during the Gen-Z protest of September 8 and 9, 2025. According to the preliminary estimate, the damage to these infrastructures stands somewhere near one trillion Nepali rupees. In a press conference held in Kathmandu on September 25, 2025, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising publicly announces the establishment of a high-level committee and a dedicated fund to facilitate the reconstruction. The move aims to provide necessary financial resources for repair, rehabilitation, and economic restoration following widespread destruction. (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
