Self-exiled British royal Prince Harry has warned parents about posting their children’s faces on social media.
The Duke of Sussex , 41, made the comments when discussing the dangers of technology with US podcaster Hasan Minhaj on his show called Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know..
Harry accused social media companies for “farming” the brains of young people, and said “there is no free will” on the platforms.
Minhaj ,40, asked him for his thoughts on images online being manipulated with AI and whether parents should post photos of their children.
Harry and wife Meghan Markle ,44, have been very careful to limit images of their children Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, on social media, never showing or obscuring their faces.
He replied: ““Parents can do whatever they want.
“But from what I’ve seen, what I’ve heard, what I’ve experienced, is you should be really really worried, concerned and cautious about putting photographs of your kids online.
“Especially now, with this surge of unregulated AI. You don’t know where it’s going to go, how it’s going to be used.
“But that’s also really sad. There’s parents watching this asking ‘well how am I supposed to share photos with people across the world’.”
He was then asked what age he thought children should be allowed to join social media.
Harry responded: “I think 21 is a sensible age. Um but this but the companies don’t.
“They won't ever allow that. They will throw tens of millions of dollars to lobby against that.”
