Adrift in a parallel universe: Lismore struggles to find itself after another flood
Residents starting to rebuild their lives and homes after February's floods are traumatised by the latest disaster.
The rainforest country of the northern rivers has long been a heartland of alternative thinking and lifestyles.
But residents of Lismore say that when putrid flood waters inundated their homes and destroyed their businesses for the second time in a matter of weeks, it shattered any vestige of the idea of "normal" they had set for themselves, sending them adrift into what feels like a parallel universe.
Lismore, NSW, Australia.
Ella Buckland (aged 41 years) holds her daughter Myla Hennessy (aged 8 years) in Lismore. The family lost everything at the end of February 2022 when their home was hit by the first flood.
The town of Lismore and the Northern Rivers region were hit with devistating floods for the second time in a month at the end of March (The first flood hit the end of February).

House Of Reeves store in Croydon has been covered with 4,000 positive messages from young people as part of the Reverse Riots charity campaign following last year's riots, London, Britain- Aug 2012

Riot-Hit Shop Displays Positive Message One Year On
The iconic furniture store which was fire-damaged in last year's riots has been covered in thousands of images of young people holding positive statements.
House of Reeves, in Croydon had stood on the same corner for more than a century when it was targeted by rioters a year ago today (Monday 6 August), now owner Maurice Reeves and his son and co-owner Trevor Reeves are helping to challenge the negative perceptions born from the actions of a minority of Britain's youth last year.
Alongside pop-star Delilah the visual stunt was launched this morning on the House of Reeves adjacent store, part of the same business which was also damaged in the riots but has been refurbished.
The store was decked with pictures of youngsters holding cards with hopeful messages for society and their local community.
Reverse Riots a charity campaign are working in conjunction with Maurice and Trevor Reeves, vInspired and Do Something - charities behind the campaign - and hope the bold statement of positivity will showcase all the generous contributions to society and local communities that young people offer.
Trevor Reeves said: "The positive legacy of the riots was the coming together of people of all ages and from all walks of life to help mend the capital. We were overwhelmed by the support that was offered to our family and many others affected in the days and weeks that followed.
"We are blessed with so many bright, inspirational and positive young people in this country and I believe it's important that we don't allow the actions of such a few ...

'Where The Wild Things Are' film premiere, New York, America - 13 Oct 2009
Directed by Spike Jonze, 'Where The Wild Things Are' is an adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's story of the same name. It follows the story of Max, a disobedient little boy sent to bed without his supper. Here he creates his own world - a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler

Robin Gibb Battles Ill Health To Promote Charity Single
Robin Gibb has shocked fans after appearing on a British chat show looking frail and emaciated.
The 61-year-old Bee Gee's struggle with ill health was clear as he appeared on the Alan Titchmarsh Show.
In the past two years the singer has been hospitalised twice - the latest incident just 12 days ago - after collapsing with severe abdominal pains.
In August last year he underwent life-saving surgery for a blocked intestine - the same condition that led to the death of his twin Maurice in 2003.
It was revealed afterwards that if he had not received prompt treatment he could have died.
His latest hospital stay saw the teetotal, vegan star treated for six days for inflammation of the colon.
His ill health forced him to pull out of various work appearances, including a BBC Songs of Praise concert and a meeting with Prime Minister David Cameron.
He is currently promoting a Poppy Appeal charity single with The Soldiers, which is a new version of the Bee Gees hit 'I've Gotta Get A Message To You'.
