    Animals Church .

The Church of the Good Shepherd in Lower Sloane Street in London has no time for dogma . Headed by Rt. Rev H.P. Nicholson , it claims to be a revival of the Ancient Catholic Church , ' Catholic ' in the ' true ' sense of the word .- meaning that it embraces people of all creeds , races and colours , as long as they recognise the Christian God as the God of Love . It also opens its doors on the first Sunday of every month to animals , for special services of dedication and healing . On these Sundays , people bring along their sick animals to be blessed by Dr . Nicholson , and many cases of miraculous healing are on record . Dogs , cats, birds, tortoises, rabbits - all kinds of pets crowd the pews with their human owners ; and the sound of the organ and the singing of hymns is punctuated by growls and yaps and hisses as the animals wait their turn to go to the alter .

Picture shows :- And another sad-faced woman follows ,holding another black rabbit , ill , she fears , with myxomatosis , dreaded rabbit disease ...

December 23, 2006, Nagorno Karabakh, Azerbaijan: The Republic of Nagorno Karabakh (NKR) began its secession from Azerbaijan during the final years of the Soviet Union. The breakaway war with Azerbaijan ended in 1994 with an estimated 30,000 dead and nearly 750,000 displaced. While a fragile cease-fire still stands, there is yet to be a peace agreement, leaving the official status of Nagorno Karabakh in a state of limbo. Although it is not recognized by a single nation, the NKR maintains all the governmental trappings of a sovereign state, with an elected president, cabinet, parliament and military.///A high priest blesses a war memorial. God and guns are ever present in Nagorno Karabakh, a "country" whose main identity is religion, a common justification for their violent breakaway from the Muslim (Shiite) majority Azerbaijan. PET LOVING JAPANESE PRAY FOR ANIMAL GOOD HEALTH

Celebrating the New Year in Japan means paying special attention to the "first" time something is done in the new year.

For example, Hatsuhinode is the first sunrise of the year, while hatsu-uri is the first shopping sale of the new year.

One of the most important 'firsts' is Hatsumode, which is the first trip to a shrine or temple.

For people this event normally takes place after midnight on December 31 or sometime during the day on January 1.

But the animal loving Japanese would never leave their pets out of the New Year good fortune.

So, one of the other important New Year firsts is a visit to a shrine with their beloved pet in order to pray for the animal's good health in the coming year.

In Tokyo this type of ceremony is held at Ichigaya Kamegaoka Hachimangu shrine; here, as part of the ceremony, pets and their owners step through a large straw rope circle.

Stepping through this sacred circle helps to purify both body and soul, and a priest of the shrine also prays for good health and fortune for the animal.
