Jelly Babies And 26 Minutes: Secrets Behind Royal Wedding Photos Revealed
Official Royal Wedding photographer Hugo Burnand has revealed the secrets behind what he has described as the 'gig of the century'.

The 47-year-old father of four is responsible for the official portraits of newlyweds Prince William and Catherine Middleton taken on their big day.

These photos include a group shot of the bride and groom with their respective families - including the Queen and Prince Charles on William's side and her parents, brother and sister on Kate's.

Then there is a shot of the still beaming couple standing arm in arm in Buckingham Palace's lavish throne room, with Catherine still clutching her wedding bouquet.

Meanwhile, a group shot shows them sitting down, with Catherine's dress spread out, surrounded by their bridesmaids and page boys.

Unsurprisingly, according to Hugo one of the most difficult jobs was shepherding the youngsters into place.

Lord Lichfield, who took Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding pictures, used a referee whistle to get everyone's attention.

However, Hugo, who works for Tatler magazine, tried a different tack - bribery in the form of the promise of jellybeans and sweets.

On the whole, Hugo says, his aim was to crate photos that were ''effortless, relaxed and friendly.''

He spent months in preparation, which included discussions with the new Duchess, herself a keen photographer, who had definite ideas about the style of photos she wanted.

On the big day itself he and his team of six assistants cycled in from his Notting Hill studio because of the road closures.

They then spent several hours setting up, even laying place cards on the floor - reading Bride, Groom, Her Majesty the Queen etc. - so everyone could get into place quickly.

    Speed was of ...

Prisoners escape from jail by removing toilet, Cocke County, Tennessee, USA - 27 Dec 2016
Six prisoners escaped from jail on Christmas Day by removing a toilet from the wall and climbing out of the hole behind it in Tennessee. The inmates wrenched off a stainless steel toilet that had vunerable rusted pipes and the bolts holding the unit had rusted out. They took their "window of opportunity" at around 1.30am Christmas morning at the Cocke County Jail Annex, east of Nashville, as there was prior damage to the concrete surrounding the unit due to plumbing repairs. Inmates John Mark Speir and Steven Edward Lewis were captured hours after the prison break. A third inmate, Eric S, Click, 29, was captured late on Monday afternoon. The three suspects unnacounted for were John Thomas Shehee, 28, held on charges of arson, criminal tresspass and theft, Harce Wade Allen, 28, who was being detained for violating probation and David Wayne Frazier, 54, accused of aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon. Police described them as potentially dangerous.

Cheeky Prince Harry Gets To Grips With Pippa
Pippa Middleton's bridesmaid dress clad bottom earned her a legion of fans following the wedding of her sister Catherine to Prince William in April.

And judging by these images one of those fans was none other than Prince Harry.

New images appear to show the young royal and Pippa getting up close and personal at the wedding reception.

But taking a closer look reveals the truth behind photos - they're all taken using lookalikes.

Celebrated contemporary artist Alison Jackson is renowned for her elaborate, extremely amusing and often believable 'spoof' productions, which give an imaginary behind-the-scenes insight into the world of celebrities and Royals.

These latest images were created to celebrate the Blu-ray Triple Play and DVD release of hit comedy 'Bridesmaids' - available now - from Universal Pictures.

    Royal Wedding: Buckingham Palace Preparations
With just a matter of weeks to go preparations for the marriage of Prince William to Catherine Middleton are well underway.

Staff at Buckingham Palace are already getting ready for the reception that will take place after the nuptials on 29 April.

On the big day the Palace's state rooms will play host to an afternoon reception after the ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

This will be followed in the evening by a more intimate dinner and dance for 300 friends of the royal couple.

The action will take place in the Palace's west wing with the white drawing room, the music room, the blue drawing room and the state dining room all being utilised.

Meanwhile, the official multi-tiered wedding cake is expected to be on display in the nearby picture gallery.

In order to have the palace looking its best for the events staff are working hard to display it at its finest.

For example, the palace's greatest art will be on display, with masterpieces by the likes of Canaletto, Rembrandt and Rubens.

According to Edward Griffiths, Deputy Master of the Household, palace staff are used to hosting big events and cater to roughly 50,000 guests a year.

He said 60 people will be working at the afternoon reception, doing everything from opening car doors for guests to serving them canapes and drinks.

Meanwhile, guests will also sit down to a feast prepared by the Palace kitchens.

Head chef Mark Flanagan and his 21-strong team will be responsible for catering to the 600 people invited to the afternoon reception.

Details about the food selection and the wine list are being kept a secret but it is said that the food will show off "the best of British produce."

    Bird-Napped
An unlucky blackbird went from the frying pan to the fire when he was dropped from the clutches of one predator - and then snatched by another.

The tiny bird had initially been swiped out of the air by a hungry red-tailed hawk that, in turn, was attacked by a bald eagle.

It appears the larger bird of prey had spied the tasty snack and, fancying it for himself swooped in for a dramatic mid-air battle.

The hawk soon realised his attacker was much larger than him and conceded defeat, releasing his prey from his grasp and speeding off unscathed.

But there was no hope of a happy ending for the tiny blackbird, which was quickly swooped on by the eagle.

The extraordinary scene was captured by photographer Rob Palmer in Colorado, America.

The 57-year-old from, Littleton, Colorado, said: "I was photographing this Red Tailed Hawk as he snatched a blackbird out of the air.

"He was in bald eagle territory so I knew he would be chased and, sure enough, an immature eagle came out of the trees and started the chase.

"The eagle was much larger than the hawk so the hawk decided to drop the blackbird at the last moment.

"I have not seen it before. I know eagles are notorious for stealing from other raptors but it usually doesn't happen in front of you.

"I thought it was really cool and was delighted that I had the chance to witness this kind of behaviour.

"The hawk eventually dropped the blackbird because, if he hadn't, he would have been caught.

"The blackbird was then snatched and eaten by the eagle on the ground."
