Sheep dung spitting contest, Fermanagh, Northern Ireland - 17 Jul 2015
    FULL COPY: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/qol8

The first ever sheep dung spitting competition took place in Northern Ireland last week (15 July).

The bizarre competition was part of The Lake Festival in Irvinestown, County Fermanagh.

Sheep dung was freshly collected prior to the competition and then competitors put the dung in their mouth and spit it out. In one instance, the sheep defecated directly into a man's mouth.

The competition is judged on who can spit the dung the furthest.

In the pictures the event organiser, Joe Mahon, can be seen choosing a sheep and selecting pieces of dung ahead of the contest.

Joe can also be seen measuring the distance that a piece of dung had landed.

High Spirits! Ghostly Face Caught On Camera
Spooked pub-goers have caught on camera the spirit they say has been haunting their local boozer for years.

Regulars at the Apsley House in Southsea, Hants, say a generous ghoul, believed to be the ghost of a former barman, keeps topping up their drinks.

And at a recent retirement party for one staff member, regular Paul Morgan finally photographed the mysterious phantom.

Dad-of-four Paul, 47, who was snapping pal Gerry Goodwin, said: "I was taking lots of photos with my iPhone because it was a fancy dress-themed party.

"I took a few of a group of friends and it was once I looked at them a while later I noticed something strange in the background.

"I took two shots in a matter of seconds. You can't see anything strange in the first, then a face appears in the next.

"It is very weird. I showed my kids and they couldn't believe it.
There was no one near at the time."

Married Paul, a regular for the popular boozer's darts side, said none of the regulars have been put off going in for a drink after seeing the spooky snap.

Plumbing engineer Paul added: "The ghost is famous round here now and the pub wouldn't be the same without him."

Landlord Paul Wicks added they had nicknamed their ghostly regular Reedy - after actor and legendary drinker Oliver Reed.

He has worked at the 1960s pub, formerly a Victorian girls' school, for
    13 years.

Married Paul, 51, said: "People say they have seen the ghost at the bar and that they feel things - cold spots things like that.

"I am a sceptic but can't see any rhyme or reason for what is in that photo."

Oops! What were they thinking (7)?

It would seem that even the most fashion conscious of celebs can have an off day.

The stylists of these dreadfully dressed divas were obviously not around when they stepped out of the front door.

If they had they surely would have uttered that immortal line: "You're not going out like that!"

When left unattended there's no end of fashion faux pas a star can commit when looking for a 'stand out from the crowd' outfit.

But then looking fabulous 24/7 is something not even the most dedicated of A-listers can achieve.

And navigating the tricky minefield of fashion can be tricky at the best of times and pure style suicide at the worst.

Your 'unusual' outfit can just as easily be feted on every best dressed list as see you plunging to the bottom of the reject pile.

All of which goes to show that not even the hottest stars are immune to the odd fashion disaster.

Ginnifer Goodwin, New York's Metropolitan Opera held a triple celebration last night with a lavish star-studded gala. The famous opera honoured the company's 125-year history, previewed its current stars in upcoming roles, and paid tribute to Placido Domingo's 40 years at the house. During a four-hour long event the likes of Claudia Schiffer, Diane Kruger, Jeremy Irons, Kanye West and Mary-Kate Olsen were entertained by excerpts from 23 different operas, ranging from brief arias to extended scenes.

Check out the heavy metal on these celebs.

With such beefy bangles weighing them down these fashion forward stars have no need for the gym.

Instead their cumbersome cuffs and ample arm bands are more than enough to build some serious muscle.

Dripping with bling and laden down with sparkle these bulky bracelets pack a hefty fashion punch.

Which goes to show that a beefy bangle is one way to make an off the cuff style statement.

If the fashion police were to investigate these stylish stars would all escape without even a slap on the wrist.

MIDWIFE DELIVERS HER OWN TRIPLET GRANDCHILDREN

When Leanne Goodwin went into labour with her triplet babies there was one small problem.

With the hospital short-staffed the midwives on duty desperately needed an extra pair of hands to help with the bumper delivery.

And they found one in the very capable hands of a midwife who just happened to be on hand - Leanne's mother in law Linda.

With no time to waste, Linda was asked to roll up her sleeves, scrub up and join the team in the delivery room to deliver her own grandchildren.

She helped bring Harvey, Alfie and Elsie safely into the world, much to the relief of her daughter in law.

Leanne, 25, a customer services manager, said: "It was just so lucky that Linda had come with us to the hospital.

"We had asked her along so that she could take pictures of the babies being born for us.

"The next thing she knew she was being asked to help out and had to get into an operating theatre gown.

"She actually ended up delivering all three of her grandchildren - it was amazing".

Leanne, who lives in Norfolk with her husband Adam, 30, was thrilled when she discovered she was pregnant in December 2008.

She said: "We had been married four months and I was desperate for a baby, so we were really thrilled when I discovered I was pregnant".

But when Leanne went for her 11 week scan at the Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital received quite a shock when doctors discovered that she was carrying not one baby, but three.

She said: "I was lying on the scanning table and the doctor said that she could see twins in there, but then she rushed out the room to bring another doctor in.

    "I was terrified that something...
