Meet the adorable duo who prove that you don't have to be the same species to be best buds.

5-month-old grizzly bear Bam Bam and 16-month-old chimp Vali love nothing better than a bit of rough and tumble together.

The cute pair live at the Myrtle Beach Safari park in South Carolina, where they and their parents were born, and have recently found a tireless playmate in one another.

Park owner Bhagavan Antle comments: "Bears grow incredibly quick and chimps incredibly slow.

"Recently Bam Bam got to be about the same size as Vali and we could see that they were just about paired up".

And when the pair were introduced they hit it off immediately.

Bhagavan adds: "We got them out there playing on a sunny day and they went on and on for hours. Neither of them wanted to quit.

"They would both lie down and fall asleep at our feet, wake back up and start wrestling again".

Now the good friends spend part of each day together in what often becomes a meeting of brains vs brawn.

Bhagavan says: "Bam Bam ultimately has more power, but Vali tricks him and can constantly get behind him. He will throw things at Bam Bam and run around him in circles".

When they aren't together Vali spends his time playing with his primate relatives, including his mum who is a chimp ambassador for the park - helping to raise funds for The Rare Species Fund.

This international conservation group has helped raise more than a million dollars for conservation programmes.

And while energetic Vali keeps active by helping out his mum, Bam Bam prefers a slower pace of life when he isn't busy playing.

Bhagavan says: "Bam Bam is an eating machine. He eats an enormous amount of food and likes nothing better than to sit around and enjoy a bottle or a bowl of sweet potatoes and chicken mash".

    In time Bam Bam, who...

Baby silvery gibbon hangs onto mother Tilu, Chester Zoo, Chester, UK - 06 May 2016
Sometimes it's just nice to hang out with mum. This six-month-old silvery gibbon baby is pictured clinging onto mother Tilu in a tree.

Currently unnamed and unsexed, the youngster was born in January as part of Chester Zoo's endangered species breeding programme. Silvery gibbons are endangered in the wild.

The family can be viewed in Chester Zoo?s new Islands habitat which opened last year and is the largest expansion in UK zoo history.

Islands provides a showcase for all of the vital conservation work the zoo carries out in South East Asia and is helping the zoo to significantly increase the amount of money it spends each year on conservation in the wild.

    Friends Fur Life
Meet the adorable duo who prove that you don't have to be the same species to be best buds.

'I did NOT have an affair with Jennifer Lopez,' insists the handsome model who cavorted with star in steamy video

It emerged today that Model William Levy is being sued for 'sexual battery of a minor'
A male model known as the 'Brad Pitt of Cuba' has denied having an affair with Jennifer Lopez.

William Levy, 30, made a shirtless appearance in the pop star's new video I'm Into You, which was filmed in Mexico in April.

The American Idol judge, 41, was shown cosying up to him in sensual beach scenes filmed at Turtle Beach.

Steamy video: William Levy starred in Jennifer Lopez's clip for I'm Into You which was filmed in Mexico in April

Levy separated from his wife of eight years, Elizabeth Gutierrez, a month after the shoot.

Today he dismissed reports he is dating the star, who announced her separation for Marc Anthony on Friday.

A spokesperson for Levy told TMZ: 'The only relationship there was or is, is a professional relationship. ThatÕs all thereÕs ever been.'

The telenovela actor raved about working with the singer after the video shoot.

'It was wonderful. I felt very comfortable. She is a very sincere and fun person,' he said at the time.

'The truth is I had a really great time,' he added. 'It was wonderful to see that someone so huge could be so down to earth, in addition to being really funny.'

    Meanwhile, it emerged today that
Levy is being sued for 'sexual battery of a minor.'

Court documents state that on July 19, 2010, Levy, 'with deception and trickery' lured an unnamed plaintiff, into coming back to the Hilton Hotel in Glendale, California and forcing her to perform a sex act on him.

However, Levy is claiming the encounter was consensual.

According to court documents filed by Levy, the plaintiff 'gave consent to any and all alleged acts' and that the alleged victim 'wilfully, fraudulently, and maliciously deceived [Levy] into believing that she

A greyhound and an owl have formed a bizarre friendship at an animal centre, Ringwood Raptor and Reptile Centre, New Forest, Hampshire, Britain - Aug 2008
In the classic childhood rhyme it is the owl and the pussycat who are best friends, but in real life it's the owl and the greyhound that are the best of buddies. Six-month-old dog Torque has become adoptive father to a tiny baby owl called Shrek after the youngster was taken away from her mother for her own protection. Shrek was born at the Ringwood Raptor and Reptile Centre in Hampshire's New Forest but was taken away after she hatched because it was feared that her inexperienced mother may eat her. Now the greyhound and his feathered friend spend their evenings together watching Eastenders and Coronation Street, with Shrek safely snuggled up to Torque. And when they venture outside an ever watchful Torque closely guards the youngster. Tame Shrek will eventually be used at owl displays and open days and John believes her interaction with dogs and humans from an early age is ideal training.
