The two brothers Franco and Gaetano Balestrieri own two fishing boats in Porticello, and both are former yacht captains. ÒMy brother and I have seen plenty of storms,Ó Gaetano (black t-shirt) said. Travel Argentina
March 15, 2024 - Buenos Aires, Argentina: A mother plays with her baby at the modern Puerto Madero waterfront with the Fragata ARA Libertad (Q-2) at the background which is a steel-hulled, full-rigged sailing ship serving as a training vessel in the Argentine Navy. The stark contrast between the poverty experienced by most locals and the luxurious yachts and skylights along the Río de la Plata highlights the divide between rich and poor in the city.In the last government's Argentina, inequalities widened drastically due to severe cuts and austerity measures, to the point where even the International Monetary Fund (IMF) might be envious. The percentage of the population living at or below the poverty line rose to 57.4%, about 27 million citizens. The primary cause of this deterioration in living standards was the government's decision to devalue the peso, which, alongside other measures, deprived much of society of the ability to access basic goods. Public spending has been reduced by about a third, particularly in the areas of health, social security, and education. In the heart of Buenos Aires, hardship, poverty, exhaustion and despair are etched in the faces of ordinary people. (Maro Kouri/Polaris) (FOTO:DUKAS/POLARIS)

Galapagos animal paradise
August 10, 2024 - Galapagos Islands, Ecuador: The Quasar Expeditions boat the Evolution, seen from Black Turtle Cove, a mangrove, estuary on Santa Cruz Island. The Galapagos archipelago is known for its rich animal life: wide variety of finches, swimming marine iguanas, flightless cormorant, fur seals living side by side with tropical animals, and many more species. The government of Ecuador designated part of the Galapagos a wildlife sanctuary in 1935, and in 1959 the sanctuary became the Galapagos National Park. In 1978 the islands were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, and in 1986 the Galapagos Marine Resources Reserve was created to protect the surrounding waters. Le thé de l'après-midi le plus cher du monde
Picture MUST credit: Debbie Wingham A food artist has created what she says is the world’s most expensive afternoon tea — with a £58,000 GBP / €69.450 euros price tag. It was staged onboard a 30 m yacht moored in Puerto Banus, Marbella, southern Spain, for a 21st birthday party and included swag bags for 10 friends. The afternoon tea was created by British artist Debbie WIngham, 42. It featured delicate finger sandwiches, which were a combination of afternoon tea favourites, artfully arranged on top of a handbag, which featured a display platter. The handbag was adorned with crocodile leather details, solid gold and diamond hardware that featured more than 300 diamonds. It was completed by a diamond handbag charm consisting of a vintage bracelet by jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels paired with a diamond adorned lock and key. Each cup and saucer mimicked the design of a purse while the teapot featured a diamond handbag charm with pearl and rose adornments. The pastries were inspired by elements found in a lady’s dressing room and featured an edible perfume bottle. The pastries were served on edible jewellery trays crafted from chocolate. © Debbie Wingham via JLPPA/Bestimage

A food artist has created what she says is the world’s most expensive afternoon tea — with a £58,000 GBP / €69.450 euros price tag.

Jet Capsule est un yacht compact pouvant accueillir jusqu'à dix passagers et un pilote, tout en offrant des performances de haute puissance
Pictures must credit: Lazzarini Design A high-performance version of a groundbreaking water vessel has been unveiled by its designer. Italy-based Pierpaolo Lazzarini’s futuristic-looking Jet Capsule range now has a version called the Hyper-Sport. He says it revitalises the concept of water mobility with “luxury, comfort, and sustainability.” The compact yacht offers a customisable interior that can accommodate up to ten passengers and a pilot, while delivering high powered performance. The fully enclosed vessel is built with advanced lightweight carbon using vacuum-infusion moulding. It is 8.15m long and has photochromic windows, which adjust their transparency based on light intensity, ensuring passengers enjoy comfort and privacy regardless of external conditions. A supercharged V8 engine delivers 640 horsepower enabling the Hyper-Sport Jet Capsule to reach a top speed of 38 knots / 70 km/h. There is also the option for twin engines and twin jet drive to boost performance even more. The vessel is equipped with radar and night vision for the pilot while passengers get air conditioning.
