EX WAR PRISONERS PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES
In a great demonstration of faith anf thanksgiving for deliverance, hundreds of former prisoners of war and deportees, many of them disabbled, took part in a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France.
Photo shows: Father Saint-Marie, chaplain at Stalag IV D for five years until he was released by the advancing Russians, smokes a German pipe, souvenir of his captivity, before the panel indicating his Stalag at Lourdes.
Father saint-Marie is now Chaplain-General for the South German Zone.
